Daniel Bachman
Daniel Bachman (2014)

Daniel Bachman describes his musical style as 'psychedelic appalachia'. This LP was mainly home-recorded (at times alone, at times with assistance from various friends) and is suitably sparse and atmospheric. Based in Virginia, this 22-year-old guitarist has been touring and recording since he was 17. Known for his limited releases, there are only 250 copies of this so don't hang about. It comes in a lovely screened book tape bound sleeve.

Goldring / Thomson
For All #1: Nines

This one-sided 12" collaboration brings together two guitarists from noisy post-rock band Enablers for some eerie but ultimately good-time noodling and bell-chiming. Joe Goldring has previously played with ubiquitous noise fiends Swans, so is no stranger to fifteen-minute-plus pieces, and Kevin Thomson earned his chops fronting post-hardcore outfit Nice Strong Arm. Together, the duo have composed two purely instrumental tracks for Lancashire and Somerset, full of clean electric guitar majesty and a variety of manipulations, including your standard feedback fun.

Nick Jonah Davis
House of Dragons

Originally released on Lancashire and Somerset last year as a limited-edition LP, the album is now being made available on CD and high-quality download. The re-issue follows the release of Split Electric – a split LP of solo electric guitar recordings with C Joynes – on Thread Recordings earlier this year. Nottingham based Nick Jonah Davis’ writing and playing styles can easily be compared to Bert Jansch, Nick Drake, or John Fahey, but there’s something so much more delicate about his playing style as well. This is also reflected in the gorgeously stripped back production on this recording.

Enablers
The Rightful Pivot

Turn left, turn right: which will turn out to be The Rightful Pivot? You only have so many chances, as this 8 track record will only be pressed 500 times. Enablers are back with their noisy and unsettling rock that reminds of the Shipping News and June of 44. Get on it if you want to roll of the charts.
