Turnstile Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
Warm bit of jangly folk pop from Martha Ffion. She has a wonderful ear for melody, and everything thing she does is so charming that it's impossible to dislike. Sunday Best is for fans of the likes of Laura Marling, and The Magnetic Fields, and those who just want to listen to something pleasant and good.

Trust Fund is essentially singer/songwriter Ellis Jones supported by a revolving cast of musicians. Seems Unfair is their second album and comes just 9 months after their cracking debut No One’s Coming For Us. Seems Unfair was produced by Hookworms’ MJ and whilst it shows the band have progressed by honing their pop sensibilities, the youthful exuberance and reflective lyrics of Ellis Jones are retained.
Joanna Gruesome / Trust Fund
Fuzz is love: this split EP sees noise punx Joanna Gruesome continue their persistent assault on our indie rock ears with their pissed off shoegaze and gleefully screamed vocals. On the other side, though, there's also the one-man-band Trust Fund, which belongs to Ellis Jones, who makes a sound that lands between grainy indie rock and unhinged folk punk, and who has definitely listened to Neutral Milk Hotel in his time on this good planet.

Cate Le Bon’s fourth album Crab Day is a record of the Pacific Ocean, near which it was conceived of and recorded. The atmosphere clearly had an impact, as Cate and her band all sound loose and chilled, as though the sea air and the sand in their feet has let them forget all else but the songs they are playing. Released by Turnstile.
With a new album in the works and her oddball collaboration as the Drink bringing her to new listeners it's a decent enough time for Cate Le Bon's earlier work to be re-issued. This is her third album and it showcases her way with a wandering and winsome melody. Duran Duran fans should note that her real name is Cate Timothy.
H Hawkline, otherwise known as Cardiff-based singer / songwriter Huw Evans, follows up his acclaimed debut album Black Domino Box with this almost album-length EP. Already an integral part of the South Wales music scene, which includes Cate Le Bon and Gruff Rhys (the former of which guests on this release), Hawkline is starting to emerge as a unique and adept multi-instrumentalist. Ellis Jones, the main songwriter behind Trust Fund, is up to his first full-length album now, following EPs and a split with Joanna Gruesome. No one’s coming for us is sing-song indie pop with a bag of riffs and some occasional noisy bits, all performed to a high standard. Released by Turnstile as an LP with accompanying CD.
R.Seiliog -- otherwise known as Welsh producer and off-kilter musician Robin Edwards -- follows his 2012 EP Shuffles and his 2013 EP Doppler, with In Hz. The new recording is eight tracks of pulsing drones and electronics. As with Doppler, there is an influence of krautrock, however here Edwards also yearns a little for '90s house.
In Hz is available on vinyl LP and CD.
All I want for christmas is a Los Campesinos christmas album. Thanks Santa! More indie hopefuls reduced to making christmas songs in the vain hope they might be used in Asda's next ad. Dreadful stuff but its christmas and its limited. They've come up with 6 christmas songs. Can't wait for it all to be over.
Once the frontman of Girls, one of indie rock's most acclaimed bands, Christopher Owens has since been carving out new space for his more conceptual and folk-influenced songs. He released 'Lysandre' early last year, and now readies 'A New Testament', another record that winks at religious intervention. Slight choruses and sad folk jams abound.
Slow and sad indie pop star Perfume Genius (known by his earth name, Mike Hadreas), is back with his third record and the follow-up to the collection of minimal guitar songs that was 'Put Ur Back N 2 It'. 'Too Bright' continues the signature Perfume Genius sound, with a stark, trembling vocal performance and clean, twinkling arrangements.
Acclaimed debut solo release from Girls frontman Christopher Owens. From cult church escapee to the face of Yves Saint Lauren, Owens has led as varied and interesting life as any man could. Lysandre is a concept album of sorts, tracking chronologically the story of a meeting with a girl of the same name whilst on tour in France with Girls. The acoustic version is available on 10" vinyl, limited and exclusive to independent retailers.
