Japanese electronic composer Teruyuki Nobuchika follows 'Sonorité' (2011) with 'Still Air', his third solo record. Nobuchika has released music on Japanese label Plop (cool, huh?) and his latest is filled with minimalist abstractions, transfigured textures and meditative sensitivity. Plipp! CD on German label Oktaf Records.
Marsen Jules composed Shadows In Time in the sense that he created its structure and set its parameters, but this is in fact a generative sound-work: it kind of created itself after Jules set it up and allowed it to run. This is just one possible permutation of a constantly evolving ambient sprawl, hence the (Static Version) subtitle. CD on Okatf.
Denzel + Huhn
Denzel + Huhn carefully create exciting digital soundfields for the pleasure of the listener. Brom is their first record in eight years, and the thought that has gone into it’s 14 tracks in that time is audible. These pieces crackle, skip and hum with a remarkably melodic sensibility. Released on CD by the Oktaf label.
‘Empire Of Silence’ is German ambient composer Marsen Jules long awaited follow up to his debut ‘Herbstlaub’ on CCO. ‘Empire of Silence’ is an impressive homage to the stunningly stark and powerful beauty of the Nordic landscape. Jules layers bittersweet string symphonies with a deeply conscious precision to create epic compositions that are at the same time warm, nostalgic and beautiful.
