Vampisoul Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
Second release as part of Vampisoul's Psychout series. Nelson Psychout explores lost gems by Italian session band I Marc 4, from the Nelson Records library. Though these tracks were created to be background tracks, there's a eccentricity to them that shines when they become the star of the show.
Czech Up! Volume 1: Chain Of Fools broadcasts an eclectic selection of lesser-heard music from Czechoslovakia (as it still was during the 1966-1978 period this compilation covers). Jazz-funk, R&B, garage rock, disco… plenty of styles are represented here, all drawn from the vaults of the Supraphon label. Double LP on Vampisoul.
A four meat soup of delight from The Afrosound Of Colombia Vol. 2. This compilation is a real hodgepodge of styles, sounds and aesthetics. Going from synthed-out funky disco, to a percussion and brass led salsa vibe. It's an eclectic mélange of traditional South American roots music, with Caribbean and African sounds which are a result of the diverse range of ethnicities Colombia is home to. Out on double vinyl LP and CD from Vampisoul.
Vibrations from the sun drenched Garotas Suecas. Feras MÍticas is the second album from the Rio De Janeiro group. Awash with soulful vocalisations, tight guitars, serious bass lines, drums and an assortment of electronics and strings. They mix between their native styles such as bossa nova and gentle samba with laid back funk, pop and blues. Out on double vinyl LP from Vampisoul.
