Le Berceau de Cristal is a 1976 film featuring Nico, that was soundtracked by Ash Ra Tempel in typically hypnotic style. Manuel Göttsching and pals used an array of unusual electronic equipment as well as their guitars, and the resulting hour-long suite is deep and meditative. Vinyl reissue on MG.ART.
E2-E4: a classic slab of minimal electronica from Ash Ra Tempel wizard Manuel Göttsching. Absurdly, for such a crucial work, the whole hour-long piece was improvised by Göttsching so he’d have something to listen to on his walkman during a plane journey the next day: the mind boggles. 35th anniversary LP reissue with embossed artwork, on MG.ART.
Solo outing number one from the Ash Ra Temple / E2-E4 legend Manuel Göttsching. Inventions For Electric Guitar, dating from 1974, pushes the instrument through a tangle of delays and echoes so that these pieces sound very far from solo guitar pieces. As hypnotic as anything Göttsching ever produced. CD / LP reissue on MG.ART.
