Andrew Jackson Jihad
Can't Maintain

Can’t Maintain is the third album by Andrew Jackson Jihad. It was originally released in 2009 so this new picture disc pressing serves as a 10th anniversary celebration. The folk-punk band were formed in Phoenix, Arizona and will go down well with fans of Neutral Milk Hotel, Mountain Goats and Xiu Xiu.

Kitty Kat Fan Club
Dreamy Little You

Cute story. Former Skankin' Pickle guy Mike Park missed hanging out with a band who all lived in the same place so he put together Kitty Kat Fan Club to play indie-pop and hag out. What could be better? The music sounds pretty sweet too, indie/twee pop with nods to Belle & Sebastien, the Pastels, Alvvays etc.

Hard Girls
Floating Now

Hard Girls’ name is a respectful yet cheeky reference to Robyn Hitchcock and Kimberley Rew’s Soft Boys, who the band cite as an influence. Known for their brooding post punk, their knack for melody has been likened to the abilities of Sebadoh’s Lou Barlow or Guided By Voices main man, Robert Pollard. Like Sebadoh, the band have two main songwriters, Mike Huguenor and Morgan Herrell, whose styles differ. Floating Now, however, cohesively explores morality, facing fears and doubt, influenced by their changing hometown of San Jose, California, a place where Google will soon call home.
