Jowe Head
Widdershins

Jowe Head (of Swell Maps and Television Personalities) strikes out with a unique album of experimentally-tinged pop-rock-psych-folk. Widdershins genre-defying tracklisting includes covers of Einsturzende Neubauten and Fairport Convention, as well as a song collected by Shirley Collins, all thoroughly reinvisioned as Jowe music. Released by Easy Action.

Black Bombers
Volume 4

You'll never guess where Black Bombers are from... no? Bit oblique? Any bands with a noteworthy Volume 4? They don't sound much like the album's name sake, taking a more guns blazing, engines roaring, rock AND roll approach. This mini album shows a band who are sure enough about what they do that they can fill it to the brim with heart.

Dave-iD Busaras & Toshiyuki Hiraoka
Bushy Luxury (The Whole Story)

Dave-iD Busaras, he of Virgin Prunes fame, here gets down with Japanese electronician Toshiyuki Hiraoka for a wild old twenty track / fifteen track ride (the track listings differ across CD and vinyl formats, so carefully choose the one that best fits you!). Bushy Luxury (The Whole Story) is released by Easy Action.

Iggy Pop
Bookies Club 870

Iggy Pop was recorded by a local radio station at Bookies Club 870 in Detroit. This album has only ever been available as a bootleg, but now the recording of the gig, from September 26th 1980, is available as a bona fide LP and CD for the first time, speed corrected and restored audio. Iggy blasts through solo classics such as Lust For Life and Nightclubbing and throws in some Stooges classics such as I Wanna Be Your Dog and Search & Destroy for good measure. Double LP and CD on Easy Action.

Hanterhir
The Saving Of Cadan

Hanterhir is by all accounts a massive project of musicians, oddballs and hangers-on, who hung out together in the deep Cornish countryside to make this outsized record. The Saving Of Cadan was a mammoth undertaking which brings together strands of freak rock, post-punk, hip-hop, electronica, psych-folk and more in the cohesive yet sprawling smorgasbord spanning 3 LPs or 2 CDs. From those equally expansive folk at Easy Action records.

Iggy Pop
Apollo

This 10” contains versions of everyone’s two favourite songs from Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life album (the title track and The Passenger), recorded live in 1977 at a concert in Manchester’s Apollo. These fiery performances have never previously been issued in full form, and punchy audio is housed within a sleeve that boasts a muscular pin-up image of Iggy. Nice. On Easy Action.

The Stooges
Heavy Liquid (The Album)

Phwoar, rare material from The Stooges! Heavy Liquid is a document of what went on in the studio around the time the band were recording their mighty Raw Power, and it consists of some truly ferocious proto-punk action, including a version of ‘Cock In My Pocket’. The Heavy Liquid double LP is released by Easy Action.

Iggy Pop
Fire Engine

Fire Engine is an Iggy Pop single that never happened, recorded in 1983 but not released until Record Store Day 2016. As well as being a fierce and noisy slab of raw 80’s Iggy, the song is also noticeable for being co-written by Al Jourgensen of Ministry, who also contributes harsh guitar. Orange 7” on Easy Action.

The Black Tambourines
Chica EP

Ocean rockers Black Tambourine, from Falmouth in Cornwall, released 7" 'No Action' in 2010, which sold out in a day. The subsequent debut  album 'Freedom' enjoyed both critical acclaim and airplay from BBC's Lauren Laverne. 2011's 'Chica' EP is now available as a Record Store Day exclusive reissue. Very limited edition 10".

Locks
Rattle Them Bones EP

Gorgeous vinyl 10” EP from Locks on Easy Action. Rattle them Bones is the second release from the band and beautifully captures their heavy, weird, blues rock. Here the myths and stories of traditional folk music are updated with pounding double bass, droning fiddle and delicate, barely-there vocals.

The Fuzztones
Salt For Zombies

The Fuzztones resurrect their 2003 album Salt For Zombies for Easy Action. Good old-fashioned garage rock music like you might hear in the dive bar of your fantasies: plenty of organ and plenty of throaty vocals, including from The Seeds’ Sky Saxon on 1 track. The (coloured) vinyl edition has a bonus 7” of an Alice Cooper cover thrown in for good measure.

The Fuzztones
Leave Your Mind At Home

They’re called The Fuzztones, it’s called Leave Your Mind at Home and that cover, with that font and that colour scheme - you just know how this one’s gonna sound. Having formed in 1980, The Fuzztones brought that whirling ‘60s paisley sound back into the musical scene. Expect lots of garage vocals, oozing organ and, funnily enough, fuzzy tones. Reissued as an LP for the first time in over ten years. Comes with six bonus tracks and a free coloured 7” of “Bad News Travels Fast”.

Johnny Thunders
Critics’ Choice / So Alone

Critics Choice may well be the last recording Johnny Thunders made before his death. It was recorded in 1991 with The Chesterfield Kings as his backing band. This 10” also features So Alone, an early version of the Thunders classic which could be his first ever recording. This enigmatic record is a must for fans and collectors alike!

The Black Tambourines
Freedom

The Black Tambourines are another iteration of the lo-fi, DIY, garage-punk band: which, to be fair is always a band worth seeing. Freedom is their second full-length, and finds the group well-honed but certainly not cleaned-up: all the guitars (and even most of the vocals) remain plenty distorted. Freedom is released by the Easy Action label.

The Black Tambourines
Domino / A Forest / Friendship 7

The Black Tambourines are proud to come from Falmouth, from whence they transmit their indie rock energy. This 12” serves as an interim release before their second album comes out, and most excitingly includes a cover of The Cure’s classic track ‘A Forest’, alongside two originals. Released by Easy Action.

Sonics Rendezvous Band
City Slang / Electrophonic Tonic

Sonic's Rendezvous Band came from the ashes of four Michigan rock bands: Fred "Sonic" Smith, formerly of the MC5, Scott Morgan, formerly of the Rationals, a soul-influenced Detroit band of the 1960s, Gary Rasmussen, formerly of The Up & Scott Asheton, formerly of The Stooges. They remained virtually unknown, but their one and only single retained high interest among fans of Detroit rock. The band had had only enough money to mix one song, "City Slang", so it was pressed on both sides of the single. One side was labeled mono and one side stereo although both sides were identical.
