The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 5

The second last instalment in The Caretaker's epic 6-part exploration of dementia. By now we are lost and confused, the world is starting to stop making sense. Everywhere At The End Of Time at the end of time achieves this through repetition, dislocation, and dread inducing noise. This is the sound of losing yourself.

The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time Stages 1-3

The Caretaker continues on his dark journey into dementia… Everywhere At The End Of Time is being released in installments on Bandcamp, but we also have a physical edition round-up of the first three volumes, presented over three CDs. Thirty-eight tracks of as-ever gorgeous melancholy music from this very special project, with exclusive artwork from Ivan Seal throughout the packaging.

The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 4

In which Leyland Kirby progresses / regresses to Stage 4 (of 6!) of his 'Everywhere At The End Of Time' series as The Caretaker. Things are getting really serious now; not that Dementia is a stroll in the park. Traversing scratchy 78s and blurred music hall memories, the ongoing saga becomes more fragmented, refracted and glitchy to reflect the brain's increasingly sluggish and stuttering processes. The first in the series to arrive as a double LP, containing 90 minutes of music this time. Limited release on History Always Favours The Winners.

The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 2

Part two of The Caretaker’s long six-part farewell, in which James Leyland Kirby has given his project dementia in order to explore the melancholy horror of the condition. Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 2 feels appropriately disorientating to listen to: the ancient samples sound beautiful, but you know what they are beckoning towards. LP on History Favours The Winners.

The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time - Stage 3

Three down, three to go: Leyland Kirby continues his mission as The Caretaker to explore the musical aesthetics of dementia on the third of his six-part Everywhere at the End of Time project. At this stage of the narrative, Kirby’s ballroom loops become increasingly murky and fragmented; the light spirits of the samples increasingly ironic and troubling. Available on CD and vinyl via Kirby’s own History Always Favours the Winners imprint.

Leyland Kirby
Memories Live Longer Than Dreams

Originally released in 2009, Memories Live Longer Than Dreams was the final part of Leyland Kirby's bleak masterpiece Sadly, The Future Is No Longer What It Was is. Influenced by the likes of Vangelis, Lynch & Badalamenti, Brian Eno and Kirby’s previous work as The Caretaker, these are cracked and damaged soundfields with ghostly synth and cinematic atmospheres.

The Caretaker
Everywhere At The End Of Time

The first of a 3 year long goodbye to Leyland Kirby’s The Caretaker project. An album released every 6 months that will map the decline brought on by dementia. This first stage will, most likely, be the most coherent of the 6, as it descends into hazy memoryless discourse. Old 78s play at odd speeds and are manipulated into a collage of distant memories.
