Big L
Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous

A 25th anniversary re-issue on double vinyl for a minor classic of Nineties NYC hip-hop in the form of 1995’s Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous by Big L. The only album that the Harlem rapper released in his lifetime before being killed in a drive-by shooting in 1999, it housed classic singles in the shape of ‘Put It On’ and ‘M.V.P.’ as well as quality production work from the likes of Buckwild and Showbiz.

Jungle Brothers
Straight Out The Jungle

Nowadays Jungle Brothers’ 1988 debut LP Straight Out The Jungle is largely remembered for two reasons. The first is that the Todd Terry-produced single ‘I’ll House You’ was a seminal moment in the history of (hip-)house; the second being that album’s success led to Jungle Brothers forming the Native Tongues movement, a crew which would soon count the likes of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest among its number. However, this record also deserves to be lauded as a whole, its lo-fi beats and lackadaisical rhymes one of the finest tomes to emerge from late-80s New York City.

Robbie Basho
Venus In Cancer

Venus In Cancer was the sixth album by American acoustic guitarist, Robbie Basho. It was originally released in 1969 on the Blue Thumb label. Often mentioned in the the same breaths as fellow virtuoso players John Fahey and Leo Kottke,  Basho threw a whole load of eastern influences into his music which set him apart. His influence can be seen in the work of acts such as Six Organs Of Admittance, James Blackshaw and Jack Rose, to name but a few. Reissue LP on Traffic Entertainment.
