Peverelist
Roll With The Punches / Die Brucke

Bristol-based Peverelist is on top form with this minimalist dubstep 12" released on self-run Punch Drunk records. Delicately produced yet not lacking in depth and well-rounded heaviness, it's easy to see how Tom Ford aka Peverelist is making a huge name for himself on the Bristol dubstep scene. Essential vinyl.

Peverelist
Roll With The Punches (Kowton Linear Mix / Kowton Dub Mix)

Bristol's dubstep artist, curator and shopkeeper Peverelist gets his tune "Roll With the Punches" reworked on this 12" of the same name, with two attempts at the same remix tried on by another one of Bristol's notable electronic artists Kowton. He goes in for a dub remix the second time around, though you can only hear that one on vinyl.

Peverelist
Bluez (Classic mix) / Und_92

Man like Peverelist takes us on a trip down memory lane. Back in the late ‘00s the Bristolian boss was still making stuff that was recognisable as dubstep. ‘Bluez’, a tune that appeared on his 2009 debut LP Jarvik Mindstate, is a sick cosmic 140-bpm jam. This Punch Drunk reissue also features ‘Und_92’, a 2008 track exhumed from the vaults for this drop. Heard with modern ears the seeds of the bassweight techno style Peverelist would go on to popularise with his Livity Sound label are definitely kicking about here.

Guido
Orchestral Jam / Way U Make Me Feel

Bristol's finest dubstep producer, Guido, has left fans waiting for 'Orchestral Lab / Way U Make Me Feel', but it's finally here. Side A offers up a funk-influenced version of what Guido can be, more vibrant and celebratory than is his average speed. On the other side is "Way U Make Me Feel", a slower moving but ultimately enveloping cut.

Smith & Mighty
Bass Is Maternal

Punch Drunk is reissuing this 12" record from electronic dudes Smith & Mighty, originally released in 1995 and lovingly titled 'Bass Is Maternal'. Mixing up genres and showing a lot of love for reggae and dub, the record proudly asserts that Smith & Mighty's relentlessly catchy, often chilled out dance music was never interested in walking in a straight line. Flip 'Bass Is Maternal' over and you'll get the lovely cut "U Dub".

Bass Clef
Stenaline Metranil Solar Flare (Bass Clef Remix / Pev Remix)

Deliciously titled single from Bass Clef. This 12” presents two different remixes of Strenaline Metranil Solar Flare (a track from Clef’s 2012 Reeling Skullways album), one by the man himself, and one Peverelist, boss of the Punch Drunk label that is releasing this record. Psychedelic bounce in abundance, full of enjoyment.
