The Creation
Creation Theory

One of those “great band you’ve never heard of” moments. Forming in 1966 and quickly signing with The Who’s producer still didn’t bring them the success many felt they deserved. Thankfully Edsel have compiled pretty much everything they did, including two albums, as well as singles by precursor band, The Mark Four, and some solo work by main man Eddie Phillips.

John Foxx & Harold Budd
Translucence / Drift Music / Nighthawks

Here you will find the complete chronicle of the collaborations between ambient legend Harold Budd and Ultravox man and graphic artist John Foxx, all clumped together into a tasty 3xLP set. Previously available on CD only, it combines the 2003 opus Translucence / Drift Music with Nighthawks, a record made with minimalist composer Ruben Garcia in 2015. It's time to chill.

Various
Vault Of Horror: The Italian Connection

You will have seen countless stacks of vintage Italian horror movie soundtrack reissues pass through our doors over the years, dripping with giallo schlock goodness. This release helpfully cherry picks the finest cuts from across a wide range of those soundtracks, from Porno Holocaust to Zombie Flesh Eaters, with composers including Fabio Frizzi and Ennio Morricone. Double LP on Demon.

Tim Buckley
Dream Letter - Live in London 1968

Dream Letter - Live in London 1968 was Tim Buckley recorded live and at his best, at the QEH. 2 hours long, featured were 5 songs off ‘Goodbye And Hello’, 3 songs from ‘Happy Sad’, one included later on ‘Blue Afternoon’ and ‘Dolphins’, recorded much later -- as well as 6 songs unavailable elsewhere. Lee Underwood plays guitar and Pentangle’s bassist Danny Thompson was brought along. 3 LPs from Demon, with a nice long essay by Underwood and lyrics to every song in the set.

Marion
This World and Body

Twenty years before he was jailed for setting fire to his girlfriends clothes (presumably not while she was still wearing them) Marion singer Jamie Harding and his merry troupe had a hit with this their debut album. It's full of aggressive Brit pop that sits somewhere between Suede and Manic Street Preachers. They have a still devoted following who presumably are ready to lap this up.

Suede
Coming Up

For their third album, Coming Up, Suede had recruited 17 year old guitarist Richard Oakes via an ad in a music paper. Oakes replaced the departing Bernard Butler. The band also became a five-piece with the addition of keyboardist Neil Codling. Coming Up was released in 1996 and reached number 1 in the UK album charts. It is their biggest selling album and includes the singles Trash, Filmstar and Beautiful Ones.

John Foxx
The Complete Cathedral Oceans

Bringing together John Foxx's classic 'Cathedral Oceans' ambient works together on vinyl for the first time, in a very swish book with new images, a 12x12 print and exerpts from 'The Quiet Man', The Complete Cathedral Oceans is a thoroughly gorgeous thing. You may also know John from the BBC4 doc 'Synth Britannia' and 'UNDERPASS!'. Sorry (not sorry). Limited to 750 copies.

The Sound
Propaganda

As part of record store day 2015 (18th April) Demon records have released this double 10” vinyl set of The Sound’s Propaganda album from 1979 (but not released until 1999). The first album they made since changing their name from The Outsiders, and was recorded entirely at Adam Borland’s parent’s house. If you’re into Joy Division or even Interpol this is a must.

Alan Partridge
Knowing Me Knowing You

Before I hear any complaints about RSD having gone too far this year I would like to present unto you a limited picture disc of Alan Partridge episodes. Steve Coogan's famous broadcasting idiot is now happy to spin 'round your turntables spouting misinformed nonsense about issues close to the heart of Norfolk.

Gallon Drunk
Access All Areas

Live recordings from London’s Town & Country Club in 1992. They played tracks from their debut album You, The night… and the Music as well as a couple of singles. A must for fans of the Nick Cave and the Badseeds, PJ Harvey, Grinderman worlds - gritty, looming and impassioned bluesy rock, equally soundtrack worthy as sweaty backroom rawkus.

Bob Mould
Black Sheets Of Rain

Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould’s second solo album Black Sheets Of Rain has all the crucial Mould tropes in place: a thick and heavy guitar sound and his slightly-pushed-back-in-the-mix drawling vocals. The album was recorded with two former members of Pere Ubu too! 25th anniversary remastered reissue on Demon.

Bob Mould
Workbook 25

Just over a year after Husker Du split, Bob Mould released his first solo album, Workbook in 1989. Mould wrote and sang everything on here. He played most of the instruments too, but shared drumming duties with Anton Fier (Golden Palaminos) and bass with Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu). Jane Scarpantoni (Tiny Lights) was drafted in to play cello too. The album is a cult classic and to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Omnivore Recordings are reissuing the album as Workbook 25. The CD will feature extra tracks and a second disc of Bob Mould’s live performance at Chicago’s Cabaret Metro in 1989. The double vinyl LP will feature a bonus track, All Those People Know.
