Artik
The Robots At Dawn

Artik moved from the southern islands of sunny Spain to Berlin in order to immerse himself in the perfect atmosphere to make music of dystopian ambience and pummelling beats. His EP ‘The Robots At Dawn’ takes inspiration from the Isaac Asimov novel of the same name. It opens with the oppressive ambient track 'Solaria' before focusing on the dancefloor and closing with some body-contorting funk. Pure brutalised techno naughtiness - think Belief Defect.

Death Qualia
Fanged Contradiction

'Fanged Contradiction' is the first record in three years by Jon Baruc, masquerading here as Death Qualia. The Berlin-based artist continues themes he used on 'Surface Tension', the LP he recorded as one half of DEFCE - this is music which has been dubbed ‘Ultra Techno' by some, a term which is sure to get mouths watering and tongues wagging. 'Fanged Contradiction' is out on Ohm Resistance (Scorn, Luke Lund).

Luke Lund
Hopium

Luke Lund is a Finland based expert in the dub, murk and anything that revels in the bottom end of the sound spectrum. HOPIUM blends dub, noise and techno in a varied set that takes inspiration from fellow fin Mika Vaino as well the likes of Jesu and Scorn. Six long form tracks to get immersed in.

Dadub
Hypersynchron

Dabbling in fusions of bass music with traditions from around the world for around a decade now, the latest album from Daniele Antezza and Marco Donnarumma as Dadub delivers exactly what you’d expect it to. Hypersynchron is presented over two vinyls on Ohm Resistance, with a re-make courtesy of Scorn.

Scorn
Cafe Mor

A long-time side-project offshoot from Napalm Death but now a solo vehicle for Mick Harris, Scorn returns for the first time since 2010 and with a new album, Cafe Mor. Full of his trademark cavernous bass and deep explorations into dub, the record features a surprising collaboration with Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson!

Submerged
The Eradication of Untruth

Looking at the cover of this record I was ready to start writing about metal. But no, turns out Submerged is a drum & bass producer so I'm going to have write about "sick beats" instead of "sick riffs". The Eradication of Untruth is about as intense as its title suggests, as Submerged approaches the genre with a hard as nails attitude.
