Black Doldrums
Sad Paradise

Club AC30 (Pinkshinyultrablast, Ringo Deathstarr) drop an LP from psychedelic twosome Black Doldrums. On Sad Paradise the pair of them come up with a racket that would put bands double their size to shame. Tracks such as ‘There Is No Eye’ combine the droning psychedelia of early Primal Scream with Britrock swagger reminiscent of The Stone Roses and Oasis.

Purple Heart Parade
Lonestar EP

Purple Heart Parade are a Manchester band, here presenting their second EP. These dudes certainly know their history, and they’ve got the pedals and the reverbs to bring that heritage to life. The Lonestar EP drapes itself all over your stereo, heavy and dreamlike. Limited edition vinyl release from Club AC30.

Pinkshinyultrablast
In The Hanging Gardens

Pinkshinyultrablast return with their latest 10", almost definitely cementing their position as the best shoegaze band to come out of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Dreamy synths and vocals from vocalist Lyubov, taking notes from forefathers such as My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins. On Club AC30 - limited run of 'rose sunshine' coloured vinyl.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Miserable Miracles

Now down to a three piece Pinkshinyultrablast release their third album Miserable Miracles. Previous long players Everything Else Matters and Grandfeathered saw the Russian band produce massive walls of hypnotic noise that mixed the shoegaze sounds of My Bloody Valentine with the full on riffage of Smashing Pumpkins, this new stripped down trio have now adopted a more crystalline synth pop sound so it'll be interesting to see if they can still cut the mustard.

Air Formation
Near Miss

Brighton’s Air Formation actually split up in 2010, but reappeared briefly 3 years ago with the EP Were We Ever Here. Their new LP, Near Miss, is the first since their split. Influenced by shoegaze and bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, Flying Saucer Attack and Spacemen 3, they have gone for authenticity here by getting Pat Collier (JAMC, House Of Love, Primal Scream) to record and mix the album. LP on Club AC30.

Adam Franklin
Iron Horse / Born To Lose / Thursday's Child

Adam Franklin out of Swervedriver here pays tribute to two fallen heroes, Lemmy and David Bowie, with a pair of cover versions. Motorhead’s Iron Horse / Born To Lose sits interestingly next to Bowie’s Thursday’s Child, especially when both have been put through Franklin’s totally different sonic filters. 7” on Club AC30.

Taffy
Darkle

6 track mini album available on 12” vinyl or CD from Club AC30. Darkle showcases Japan’s indie pop four piece Taffy’s bizarre blend of '90s british guitar riffs and esoteric Japanese dreamy pop vocals. A blend of Graham Coxon 4-chord stomp and Stone Roses psychedelia, with Deerhoof like vocal performance.
  • Vinyl 10" (AC3012034)
  • CD (AC3012035)

Taffy
Nyctophilia

Taffy continue to resurrect various guitar sounds of the early 90’s with new album Nyctophilia. Shoegaze is the dominant form here, with the gorgeous wobbly guitars and sweet indie vocals that we’ve all come to love. Quality noisy haze-pop. Vinyl release on Club AC30, limited to just 250 copies.

Is Bliss
The Honeycomb Explosion

The stinging psychedelic shoegaze of The Honeycomb Explosion really is from the land of milk and honey. The Hampshire trio have a sound knack for creating both explosive and ethereal dream-pop, and media powerhouses such as BBC Radio 6 are cottoning on. Their moniker, Is Bliss, is often all too literal.
  • Vinyl 12" (AC3014044)

Fever Dream
Squid

Londoners Fever Dream are back with a new album following their 2015 debut 'Moyamoya'. Squid promises us more of their mesmeric guitar work, infused with a blend of grungy psychedelia with wall-of-noise shoegaze manoeuvring. Fluid and expansive sounds to immerse yourself in. LP on Club AC 30.

Misty Coast
Misty Coast

Misty Coast are a band whose name is inspired by the location of their hometown - the oft overcast mountainous, coastal town of Bergen in Norway. Their sound, however, is influenced by another coast - the psychedelic sounds of  the west coast, Southern California. The Duo are made up of Linn Frokedal and Richard Myklebust of noise-rockers The Megaphonic Thrift. This is lo-fi sun-kissed and fuzzy minimalist psych-pop that the duo recorded quietly at home so as not to disturb their neighbours.

Is Bliss
Velvet Dreams

Is Bliss are a brand new band of good, honest shoegazing dream-poppers: they love the kind of music that drapes sweet melodies with even sweeter guitar hazes, and that’s what they’re gonna do. Velvet Dreams is their debut release, an EP on soft-hued transparent vinyl with sitar-flavoured guitars and broad horizons. 12” on Club AC30.

Flyying Colours
Mindfulness

Shoegazing dream pop from aussie four piece Flyying Colours. Drunging and hugely layered vocals and catchy sunny riffs that are so drenched in reverb they sound like you’re being played at from a large shipping container. Floating away with the Melbourne sun, but grounded by solid bass and snapping drums.

Air Formation
Were We Ever Here

Brighton shoegazers Air Formation were working on some new material back in 2010, only to split up before it was completed. They reformed in 2014 and Were We Ever Here is the first new music from them since. The songs (sort of) take up where they left off: thick layers of feedback and distorted guitars are augmented by New Order-esque synth work. It seems that the band may be back to their best.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Happy Songs For Happy Zombies

Pinkshinysupermassiveblastoise enter the wonderful world of reissues with a 10", RSD-prepped celebration of 'Happy Songs For Happy Zombies'. The Russian shoegaze outfit treat their host genre more ecstatically than A Sunny Day In Glasgow and Cocteau Twins put together, injecting some well-needed (or at least not unwelcome) thrash techniques into their sweet, dreamy music. This one dates back to 2009. Olde school.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Grandfeathered

Grandfeathered is Pinkshinyultrablast follow up album on Club AC30, a more experimental pop affair than their debut, a more expansive and layered fuzzy pop sound. Warm swathes of fuzz peeling back to playful Foals esq beats and picks. Chuck in some of Braids’ beauty and some of Boris’ power and you’s got some bizarre, and brilliantly coined “Thunderpop”.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Cherry Pit

Thunderpop is a new one to me.. but an appropriate moniker for this it certainly is. Russia’s Pinkshinyultrablast make dreamy shoegaze pop, with power and direction. Cherry Pit is the second single from their upcoming sophomore album on Club AC30. Imagine if Boris and Braids teamed up to make a pop album.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Kiddy Pool Dreams

Who knew shoegaze indie-pop had reached Russia? Well it has in the form of St. Petersburg's Pinkshinyultrablast. They have updated the genre a little to include ethereal twinkles which create a dynamic sound againsts the distorted guitars. Kiddy Pool Dreams is the first single from their forthcoming second album of the same name.

You Walk Through Walls
You Walk Through Walls

You Walk Through Walls are a London shoegaze with a very shoegaze name indeed, making guitar-collapsing lo-fi that's slightly clearer than your average MBV-influenced act; you can hear vocalist Matt Bartram's vocals and a great deal of harmonizing throughout this self-titled debut. Recommended for fans of older shoegaze such as Ride, as informed by newer, more pop-intentioned acts like Amusement Parks on Fire.    Tracks: Burning Inside Gone in a Day Miss so Much The Light Is Fading Wrap Myself in Dreams Always Want to Know Far Beyond On My Way How Can We Go On Revelations

Ringo Deathstarr
Pure Mood

The phrase “shoegaze pioneers” in the press release for this here new Ringo Deathstarr album doesn’t quite ring true to me: this band have always excelled at playing shoegaze, but I wouldn’t put them among the originators. Anyway, Pure Mood is a strong collection of blasted noise pop, pressed in two different colours of spotted transparent vinyl.
  • CD (AC3012112)

Flyying Colours
ROYGBIV

Available on 180 gram purple vinyl on Club AC30. Shoegazing psychedelia from Melbourne based Flyying Colours. Layers upon layers of guitar tones blended with dueting vocals that wouldn’t go amiss in a '90s version of The National. For fans of Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine, Pale Saints. Limited pressing of 300 copies.

Fever Dream
Moyamoya

Debut album from this aptly monikered London 3-piece. Fever Dream make their pass at shoegaze revivalism with their instruments calibrated to ‘pop’, the target: ‘euphoria’. These guys deliver their overdriven guitar fantasies in neat alt-rock packages for easy, satisfying absorption . Moyamoya is out on vinyl from Club AC30.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Everything Else Matters

Big wide open shoegaze from St. Petersberg, Russia! Pinkshinyultrablast grabbed that pleasing name from an album by Astrobrite, which gives an impression of what their sound might be, but these guys love shoegaze too much to simply replicate it like a relic from the early '90s. Instead they push forward and outwards, into subtly new spaces.

Pinkshinyultrablast
Ravestar Supreme

Russian shoegazers Pinkshinyultrablast excerpt two tracks from their recent Everything Else Matters album for this natty little transparent blue 7” on Club AC30. Big washes of guitar swathed over everything, as you’d expect, but the vocalist’s falsetto and the jumpy tunes stand out.

Eastern Hollows
Eastern Hollows

Eastern Hollows are an indie 5-piece from Brooklyn. For their eponymous debut they’ve given the Madchester sound and the shoegaziness of Ride a New York style makeover. Vocally, the attitude of Ian Brown is mixed with the more hysterical stylings of Brett Anderson. The band have also been said to possess the dreaminess of Galaxie 500. Eastern Hollows is available on vinyl LP
