Boys Noize Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
Catalan weirdo Cardopusher returns to Boysnoize (Jensen Interceptor, Spank Rock) with the first instalment in his A Convenient Excuse series. The five tunes of Pt. 1 are rough and ready club takes which combine several strands of techno to good effect. Acid, jacking electro, scuzzy synthwave and even a little Balearic house are chucked into the mix here. The cross-pollinations and lo-fi vibe makes for a pleasingly leftfield listen.
Jensen Interceptor & Assembler Code
Noticeably large and bold sounding EBM from Jensen Interceptor & Assembler Code. The techno root is splashed with different colours on each track of this 4 track vinyl release, sounding at one moment like an acid warehouse rave, at another like a throwback electro fetish party. Excellent, frenetic music.
Cardopusher presents a whole LP of no-holds-barred heavyweight acidic techno, designed for the most intense part of any given night out. New Cult Fear contains eleven tracks, each packed to the gills with hard kicks, tweaked-out acid synth lines and cheeky micro-samples. Double LP release on Boys Noize, the record label run by Boys Noize.
As co-founder of the Classicworks label and an alumni of Red Bull Music Academy, Venezuelan-born Cardopusher pushes boundaries wherever he finds them. His debut album Manipulator is an ode to all kinds of electronic music from the 90’s, swinging between Warp-influenced glitch and lo fi techno like it ain’t no thing. Out on Vinyl Double 12" from Boys Noize.
Boys Noize is such a consummate professional at turning out massive house / techno that he has decided to limit his palette for the Sessions: just one drum machine and one or two synths, all-analogue jams in the studio. For Pt.3 he welcomes in the likes of Tiga, SCNTST and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to lend a hand. Banging.
Octave Minds is a collaborative effort between that Boys Noize thing and Chilly Gonzales. Hand in hand, they've crafted some bright numbers on organic-sounding keyboards, which are accompanied by enthralling 808 beats, icy vocal gasps and blasts of trailblazing synth. Octave Minds is that kind of big music M83 has made in the past; inspirational, huge and explosive, but it comes back down to earth more often, landing on receding piano motifs that settle everything.
SCNTST is a young producer from Germany who makes the proggiest sounding techno around. His new 12" single, the simply titled 'Sessions Pt. 2', is a project originally started by Boys Noize that looks set to continue being passed over. SCNTST's own work couples together two dark techno jams with a distinct analog aesthetic.
DB JAM #1
Nine months after releasing ‚Go Hard’, Boys Noize gathered his friends and returns with an even more banging remix collection. Club Cheval get things started with a trademark punchy rework of "Excuse Me," an avalanche of musical excellence from the French quartet. Los Angeles based Salva keeps the energy flowing with a high octane remix of "Push Em Up" before Ultramajic’s Aden aka Machinedrum delivers a bass-led, neonstreaked techno mix of "Inhale/Exhale." Pilo shows his skills in exciting new house and Dutch newcomer Juyen Sebulba complete the deluxe remix package; the latter’s refreshing take on old-school hard style electronica, a unique recipe for modern age house.
Handbraekes is the heavyweight marriage of electro titans Boys Noize and Mr Oizo, blending industrial German tech with Gallic insanity. The dream team duo have collaborated once again and their 2nd EP aptly titled #2 is released on 5/5 through Boysnoize Records. EP #2 showcases the pair’s dynamic sounds with 4 bangers that would be equally at home in cavernous hangers as they would shiny superclubs.
