SideOne Dummy Vinyl, CD & tapes from this label at Norman Records
The Gaslight Anthem have made a name, and a fanbase for themselves by channelling the politics and sound of vintage Bruce Springsteen into a slightly more punk-rock mould. The 59' Sound is their second record, the one that really made an impact for them, and here we have it reissued in delicately translucent blue vinyl. On SideOne Dummy.
Chicago alt-rockers Meat Wave were formed in 2011 by Chris Sutter, Joe Gac and Ryan Wizniak. They released their eponymous debut in 2012. Since then the band have signed to SideOneDummy for the release of Delusion Moon. The intention of Sutter’s lyrics is to question and work out what on earth is going on these days. Their searing punk sounds sets the perfect backdrop.
Continuing SideOneDummy's theme of working with any band with the word Super in their name comes a reissue for Superdrag, the power pop band with a penchant for putting sweet melodies in the middle of a sea of fuzz. Superdrag were one of the 90s most prominent pop-punk acts, and 'Head Trip In Every Key' is a vinyl reissue of their 1998 effort, which was ornamented with full-bodied arrangements -- strings, pianos and all. 'Head Trip In Every Key' is one for fans of classic pop-punk, produced by Jerry Finn of Green Day and Alkaline Trio fame.

Part of the new generation of grunge punks, Superheaven have been active for over five years under the name Daylight, having only recently made the change. Their 2013 record 'Jar' has the influence of 80s punk rock and moody 90s indie rock crawling all over it. It's being released on vinyl by wordy pop-punk label SideOneDummy, also home to Andrew Jackson Jihad, Violent Soho et al. If you liked Daylight's brand of nostalgic punk, then Superheaven are the same band in everything but name!

Supergroups don't get much more super than Thriftstore Masterpiece, a collective brought together by producer/musician Charles Normal. Featuring Frank Black, Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse, Pete Yorn, Courtney Taylor-Taylor from The Dandy Warhols and others, the aim is to cover 'underdog' classics. Here Lee Hazlewood's seminal "Trouble is a Lonesome Town" gets the all-start treatment. On CD or vinyl.
The Gaslight Anthem have made a name, and a fanbase for themselves by channelling the politics and sound of vintage Bruce Springsteen into a slightly more punk-rock mould. American Slang is their third full-length, and it went down very well at the time. Now we have it reissued in the form of translucent blue vinyl. On SideOne Dummy.
