Amateur Best
They Know

Amateur Best presents the second single from his album The Gleaners, titled They Know. This is a sharp slice of bouncy alt-pop, driven forwards by Joe Flory’s soulful, restrained vocals. Backed with a track exclusive to this release and remixes from none other than Richard Norris, this 12” package is out on Brille Inc.

Amateur Best
Marzipan EP

Amateur Best’s forthcoming new album, The Gleaners, promises to be a shiny dancing wonder: before then, why not have a preview, in the form of this Marzipan EP? Very personal, indie-made dance-pop, which even includes some saxophone! Also includes an even dancier disco remix from Ray Mang. 12” on Brille Inc.

Amateur Best
The Gleaners

Amateur Best is Birmingham-based songwriter Joe Flory whose debut album No Thrills was a promising foray into bedroom pop. Apparently beginning life as a concept album about a doll’s house, The Gleaners quickly morphed into an all-out dance record, whilst retaining the melancholy of previous work. Out on CD and vinyl LP from Brille.

Gwilym Gold
A Paradise

Gwilym Gold has produced his debut album, entitled A Paradise. And what a contemporary record it is, combining Gold’s stately talents at the piano with London beat-scene production from the likes of Darkstar and Hyetal. And Nico Muhly even brings the strings! An impressively effective blend of styles, on the Brille label.

The Knife
Ready To Lose / Stay Out Here Remixes

The Knife’s last album, Shaking The Habitual, was pretty club-ready to begin with, though it would have to have been a fairly intense club. This 12” of remixes of Ready To Lose / Stay Out Here makes that connection more explicit, giving Tarantism, Paula Temple and Kane Roth the chance to get stuck in. Killer material on Brille!

Shaken-Up Versions

‘Shaken-Up Versions’ is a mini album featuring classic tracks by Swedish electronic music duo The Knife. The tracks here are reworked especially for their recent North American tour of 2013’s ‘Shaking the Habitual’ LP. Just as 'rejuvinating' as their live shows, it's sure to be mandatory listening for fans of the band.
