Linekraft
Engineering Analysis of Inner Death

Dominick Fernow’s Hospital Productions label gets right back into the ‘proper’ noise with Linekraft, the “metal junk cut-ups” project of Masahiko Okubo. What you get on Engineering Analysis of Inner Death is torrents of big chunky distortion, dragged out of bits of metal and human vocals, all then subjected to slicing and rearranging. Lovely stuff, in a limited edition of 444.

Silent Servant
Shadows of Death and Desire

Shadow Of Death And Desire is Juan Mendez's second as Silent Servant. The Los Angeles based musician is incredibly prolific, working also as Sandwell District and having been involved with Tropic of Cancer. Here he turns the Silent Servant project nastier than it's ever been, going all in for an a album of dark and remorseless EBM.

Ames Sanglantes
Chindia Tower Impalements

Whatever hospital it is that Hospital Productions represents, it certainly doesn’t sound as if it offers a very high standard of patient care. It nails those intense musical works though, of which this may be one of the finest. Reissue of hitherto highly limited cassette by Âmes Sanglantes, Chindia Tower Impalements offers noise, filthy drones, animalistic vocals, sinister loops and more. Lots of all of those.

Prurient / Hanged Mans Orgasm
Unknowns

Prurient/Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement/Vatican Shadow mastermind Dominick Fernow joins forces with Skin Crime’s Patrick O’Neal for this disorientating LP under the moniker of Hanged Mans Orgasm. The two sides of Unknowns sit somewhere between the world of drone, power electronics and dark ambience. Production from Kris Lapke (Alberich) only adds to the heady portent.

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Green Graves

An entirely instrumental release from Prurient/Vatican Shadow donny-don Dominick Furnow, this new project is sparser than both. Built from a bunch of skeletal drum loops, ambient synths and the sound of forest rain, the not-doom-laden-but-definitely-uneasy feeling that permeates Green Graves recalls Actress and Demdike Stare. Not one, not two, but three vinyl.

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Ambient Black Magic

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement is another project from Dominick Fernow (aka Prurient and Vatican Shadow), in which he works with deep and dark synth-dub-ambient on an epic scale, with tracks that roll onwards for half an hour or more. Ambient Black Magic is a new recording, made with the assistance of Silent Servant, and it's an epic listen. Out on Dom’s own Hospital Productions.

Prurient
Rainbow Mirror

New Prurient album! And boy is it a big one: Rainbow Mirror is a three-and-a-half-hour super release, currently available as a quadruple disc 8 panel digipack. It’s all fresh original material, delving into deep and quasi-ambient territory without losing the harsh edge of the Prurient project. Massive potent stuff, presented on Profound Lore.

Godflesh
Post Self

Godflesh are known as an industrial metal band, but their 8th album, Post-Self, sees them move away from metal and experiment with industrial and post-punk sounds, exploring what inspired them in the first place. Lyrically the album deals with anxiety and depression, fear, mortality and paternal and maternal relationships.

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Taking Place In The Foyer

Another Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement reissue, remastered for transparent green vinyl by Paul Corley. Trust Prurient mastermind Dominick Fernow to suck the beauty out of New Guinea’s rainforests, instead making an exoticist study of witch hunts out of them. There’s not a bird or a singing insect to be heard here - only tense, stripped-down atmospheres; narratives of human suffering and supernatural intrigue.

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Papua Land Where Spirits Still Rule

If you missed one of the original sixteen cassette copies of this album when it first came out in 2012, you’ll just have to settle for one of these transparent green vinyl reissues instead. Even noise artists tire of frowning at urban human evil all the time, so for Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement Dominick “Prurient” Fernow has a good old frown at tropical forests instead. The results are as sinister as usual, but far softer and smokier, mostly focused around uneasy atmospheres and ritualistic rhythms.

JK Flesh
Suicide Estate

Justin K Broadrick is obviously no stranger to darkness and violence. On this full length foray into distorted, swampy techno, direct references to his environment and the threat of a self-imposed antibiotic apocalypse inform a bitter, unpleasant album, growling and scraping its way along a grey street.

Ancient Methods & Vatican Shadow
Bunkerterror

No need to complicate things: two big fat industrial techno slammers on a 10” split, released by Hospital Records; now in their twentieth year of operation. Vatican Shadow & Ancient Methods have cultivated a reputation for delivering unforgiving b2b live/DJ sets over the last year. If you want to get in on a piece of the action from the comfort of your own home, here’s your chance. Limited to 300 copies, so hurry up!

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Jungle Black Magic and Highlands Green Sorcery

Here’s another long-awaited vinyl release -- of Jungle Black Magic -- from Dominick Fernow under his Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement alias. A substantive one -- 40+ minutes -- featuring some uncomfortably sticky moments where ghosts are pursued, through rainforests, at night. Well, somebody had to. Exotic sounds and deep rumblings ahead. Are you ready to explore the heart of darkness with Dominick? This transparent green LP is an edition of 500, on Hospital Productions. Naturally.

Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement
Fallen Leaves Camouflaged Behind Tropical Flowers

Fallen Leaves Camouflaged Behind Tropical Flowers documents six years of Dominick Fernow’s output under his long-form Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement alias. The first ever vinyl version of the Prurient man's gloom project embeds two drawn-out, grainy, doom-laden tracks inside its unwinding grooves. The once-mysterious release reveals new detail in the slow, sullen yet controlled techno textures coiled and lurking within. If you’re feeling brave. Green vinyl LP on Hospital Productions, limited to just 500 copies worldwide.

Dedekind Cut
American Zen

Dedekind Cut is Lee Bannon playing with deep dark ambient atmospheres. This tape sounds just like you like it: sinister, slow-moving, and with the strong sensation that what we hear is just the tip of something that goes much deeper. American Zen is out on Dominic Furnow’s Hospital Productions, in a limited edition of 150 cassettes.

Dedekind Cut
$uccessor

Once he was Lee Bannon, now he is Dedekind Cut, and there is barely a beat in sight. Indeed, the manner in which grime, trap and jungle haunt $uccessor is in a sort of half-remembrance, with drums never quite coalescing into beats and the synthetic tones of the genres stretched into something more removed. Lead single ‘Integra’ has both strength and sorrow to it. Out on cassette.

Contrepoison
Discography 2010 - 2012

If you’re into Posh Isolation and Sacred Bones type stuff, you will dig the gnarliness within on this collection that brings together all of Pierre Marc-Tremblay’s Contrepoison releases between 2010 and 2012. The record features, among many other things, tracks from a split that he did with Vatican Shadow (aka Dominick Fernow, head of Hospital Recordings).

Shifted
Appropriation Stories

Guy Alexander Brewer’s project Shifted is standing at an interesting point right now. This is an outlet for properly dark and noisy sounds, but Brewer is also looking back to his previous drum & bass work as Commix. The pleasurable results, presented on Appropriation Stories, are heavyweight techno with dashes of noise and deconstructed breakbeats: intense stuff, released on Dominic Fernow’s Hospital Productions.

Prurient
Pleasure Ground

Furious man Dominick Fernow flips a coin between techno act Vatican Shadow and his noise origin story Prurient, this time coming up heads for a record of doom influenced-dissonance under the latter moniker. Initially released in 2006 on Load, Pleasure Ground is one of the pinnacles of Prurient's attempts at mixing fragility and harsh, unforgiving noise into the same pallette -- anyone who came to know him through the double-disc opus Frozen Niagara Falls -- a glacial, dissonant synth odyssey -- will understand, though this record scales far heavier. This Hospital Productions reissue is now spread across two slabs of vinyl.

Vatican Shadow
Media In The Service Of Terror

Here he is again, scowling and angry sound manipulator Vatican Shadow (aka Dominick Fernow) with another batch of intense drills to scare you out and into the comfort of your own bed. The album steps up the energy to leave you with a head spinning selection of gruesome cuts to help contemplate life in 2016.

Traversable Wormhole
Sublight Velocities

Another slice of the audio dagger from Traversable Wormhole on Prurient's Hospital Productions label. Known elsewhere as Adam X, the 'Wormhole takes you on a journey through thudding kicks, bristling hats and percs, and lurking drone layers that can only mean one thing - evil. Evil, and that thing called techno. Evil.

Sannhet
Young Death

Gloomy Dom Fernow (of Prurient and Vatican Shadow) is evidently a fan of Brooklyn metallers Sannhet: his Hospital Productions label is issuing this compilation of obscure and rare highlights. Young Death spans about 5 years, and includes some of their fiercest death metal material alongside some of their more post-rock influenced stuff. Edition of 400 LPs.

Clay Rendering
We Are Aware

Next up on Sir Prurient's Hospital Productions label is one from duo Clay Rendering, aka Wolf Eyes alum Mike Connelly alongside artist Tara Connelly. Their music sounds like extreme music being reduced into a dreamt-up ambience, blurred together but never cut of its melodies or extremities. We Are Aware is a 12" that mixes black metal and shoegaze but not in the Deafheaven way. There's a b-side of dejected coldwave to go with it.

Ron Morelli
Backpages

Described by my roommate’s girlfriend as looking into the head of somebody in an institution, Ron Morelli is back with pages - Backpages. With high speed beats and mind boggling arpeggiators, this crazy guy has released another fine half hour long EP that will blast apart skulls and dancefloors alike.

Function & Vatican Shadow
Games Have Rules

Here's a collaboration between electronic big hitters Function and Vatican Shadow who have combined forces,  simultaneously stripping back each producer’s main production elements - the dancefloor-focused techno structures of Function; the experimental cassette-roots of Vatican Shadow - to create an album of dynamic electronic ambient music, equal parts rhythmic and atmospheric.

Clay Rendering
Snowthorn

Clay Rendering are a duo made up of ex-Wolf Eyes member Mike Connelly and his wife, Tara. Their debut album, Snowthorn, mixes goth, ambient, black metal and dream pop to create a fragile yet relentless collection of songs. Their music mixes Nine Inch Nails with Disintegration-era Cure and apocalyptic electronic black metal. Purient’s Dominick Fernow assisted on production with DJ Becka Diamond guesting on vocals.

Ron Morelli
A Gathering Together

Dom Fernow’s Hospital Productions label has been gradually following his path towards techno, though without fully shedding the harsh distortions we’d expect given the label’s past. L.I.E.S head Ron Morelli manages all of that, with a full-length that will pound you with heavy dancing all night long. A Gathering Together is available as an LP.

Alessandro Cortini
Risveglio

Good on ya Signore Alessandro Cortini who brings us Risveglio, a moody, lo-fi album of synth and electronic music. The layers of electronica loop and pop and slowly build into something which never feel contrived or bombast, it’s some moody electronica using a basic solo synth to create grainy walls of cinematic pulsating soundscapes. Not dissimilar to Kevin Drumm's work on the same label.

Exoteric Continent
Referendum

I had hoped that Referéndum might represent Hospital Productions long-awaited commentary on David Cameron’s EU referendum, but upon listening it doesn’t seem to be. Instead, Exoteric Continent brings some potent noise techno into play, the material previously put out as two tapes but now brought together on an LP.

Alberich
Nato-Uniformen

This is so good you'll dread listening to it: 'Natio-Uniform' is a frightening horror-flick by the way of gruesome industrial percussion, techno rhythms and unkind electronics. With a rough and barely-modulated approach to composition, Alberich makes Pharmakon look like power electronics' greatest diplomat.

Silent Servant
Negative Fascination (Extended 12" Mixes)

Minimal and immaculately constructed techno comes from Silent Servant, who lets his songs crawl around and find their feet before unleashing his hellish tricks: the way "Invocation of Lust" slots into place is a prime example of how patient this man is with his work. On 'Negative Fascination' his techno is stiffened by industrial percussion and made ethereal with ambient washes.
