Red Rum Club
The Hollow of Humdrum

Striking while the iron is hot, Liverpudlian indie outfit Red Rum Club follow up their acclaimed debut album Matador in short order. Sprawling across a wider spectrum, from acoustic tracks to festival-ready moments, The Hollow of Humdrum is more ambitious than its predecessor, and could be the moment that breaks them to a wider audience.

Tourists
Another State

Exciting Torquay-based quintet Tourists announce their hotly-anticipated debut studio album, released on Modern Sky. Produced by Daniel Schlett (who’s worked with DIIV and The War On Drugs in the past), Another State is a collection of dark, menacing soundscapes embracing kosmiche, post-punk and shoegaze.

The Jacques
The Four Five Three

The Jacques are an indie four-piece based in London. They were formed by brothers Finn and Elliot O’Brien in 2014. They released an EP on the label owned by Libertines drummer Gary Powell before tragedy struck and their bassist, Will J Hicks, along with a close friend of Finn’s sadly died. This understandably derailed the band somewhat. They have thrown all their experiences of tragedy and loss, whilst celebrating the lives of loved ones, into their debut album, The Four Five Three.

The Blinders
Fantasies Of A Stay At Home Psychopath

Produced by the esteemed Rob Ellis, Fantasies of a Stay At Home Psychopath is the second studio album from Manchester-based alt-rock trio The Blinders. Following the underground success of 2018’s debut Columbia, which allowed them to obtain valuable support slots and tour hard, their sophomore doubles down on the political and melodic elements and makes The Blinders truly a band for our times.

The Lottery Winners
Sounds of Isolation

Recorded swiftly under lockdown and serving as a lightning-fast follow-up to their self-titled debut album which only came out back in March, The Lottery Winners deliver an 11-track covers album, including versions of Joy Division, Oasis and Smiths classics. Sounds Of Isolation's release date coincides with what was supposed to be their biggest headline show to date, at Manchester’s O2 Ritz.

Jamie Webster
We Get By

At one point performing in front of 60,000 fellow fans of his beloved Liverpool F.C. in Madrid around the time of last year’s Champions League final, singer-songwriter Jamie Webster looks to gain a nationwide following with his debut studio album We Get By, a collection of earthy and optimistic guitar-pop that’s attuned to his hometown’s rich musical heritage.

Catholic Action
Celebrated By Strangers

Glasgow band Catholic Action received a Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) nomination for their debut album. Their second album, Celebrated By Strangers, is set to continue their upward trajectory with fuzzy guitars, squawking saxes, melodies to die for and hefty digs at the wealthy establishment. On Modern Sky.

The Lottery Winners
The Lottery Winners

A discovery of the esteemed Seymour Stein (co-founder of Sire and who signed Madonna, Ramones, Talking Heads) a couple of years back, Lancashire’s exceptional The Lottery Winners have taken their time preparing their first full-length statement, honing and polishing their existing catalogue of live favourites to translate their sound effectively to the studio.

The Slow Readers Club
The Joy Of The Return

Manchester’s Slow Readers Club get themselves back to the recording studio following their Live From Festival No. 6 LP for their fourth album proper, The Joy Of The Return. The album was written whilst on tour, a change in method for them, which allowed more time for the songs to evolve. Rest assured, the pulsating drums, searing guitar lines and sky-reaching choruses are all present and correct.

No Hot Ashes
Hardship Starship

Having bagged support slots from the likes of Spring King, Blossoms and The Amazons over the last few years, as well as patronage from BBC Radio 6Music, Hardship Starship is the debut full-length album from No Hot Ashes. They’ve decided to drop their string of pre-existing singles in making the tracklist, and let these 11 tracks sink or swim on their own merit.
