Dr. Dre
2001

A legend in West Coast hip hop, Dr. Dre's back-catalogue is chock-a-block with mega-hits. '2001' contains all the hallmarks of a blockbuster classic, with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dog and Eminem all making appearances. Described as 'uncharacteristically' sparse in the media, this record truly justfiys Dre's reputation as a 'composer' as much as a 'producer'.

The Roots
The Tipping Point

The Tipping Point by hip-hop heroes, the Roots, takes its name from the Malcolm Gladwell book of the same name. The book tries to explain the knock-on effects of small social changes. The Roots build on the themes to rapping about politics and society, bringing funk, jazz and pop influences into their sound. The Tipping Point was originally released in 2004 as the follow-up to Phrenology.

Dr. Dre
2001 (Instrumentals)

2001 by Dr. Dre was originally released in...1999, obviously. It was huge at the time of release, not least because it had been seven whole years since Dr. Dre’s only other solo outing, The Chronic. It is one of the key Gangsta Rap albums and features a glittering array of talent. This is the instrumental version of the multi-million selling album.

Boyz N The Hood (Music From The Motion Picture)

Film director John Singleton sadly passed away in 2019. His most famous film was his debut outing - Boyz N The Hood. To celebrate Singleton’s life and work, the soundtrack to the film is being officially issued on vinyl for the first time. It features tracks by Ice Cube, Stanley Clarke and Quincey Jones.

N.E.R.D.
In Search Of (Deluxe)

In Search Of… was the first album by N.E.R.D. The group featured some bloke called Pharell Williams, who I’m sure will make a name for himself one day. Two versions of the album were made - The Electric Version and The Rock Version. Now you can get them all together on 4 LPs. Includes the hits Lapdance and Rockstar.
