Aldana explores similarities between the struggles Kahlo faced in a male-dominated art world with her own, as she makes her way in the world of jazz which is mostly populated by men. This is Aldana’s first recording heading up a jazz quartet. LP and CD on Motema.

Mark Guiliana

BEAT MUSIC! BEAT MUSIC! BEAT MUSIC! is an electric mix of dancehall, EDM, dub and electronica from drummer and beatmaster Mark Guiliana who has previously worked on David Bowie's Blackstar. Musical elements build and crash away into electronic rhythms which are complex and futuristic in character but with an '80s edge and universal appeal.

Donny McCaslin

First album from veteran saxophonist Donny McCaslin since he helped define the sound of David Bowie's final album, Blackstar. On Blow McCaslin enjoys the liberation he learned from Bowie, drawing on everything from 90s hip-hop to contemporary electronic dance music. On how many other albums would you find a Deadmau5 cover and a Mark Kozelek feature?
