EOC
The Path of Untitled Memories

The promising Mirae Arts with their third release here. This one’s courtesy of Katsunori Sawa’s EOC (Enormous O’Clock) project. The Path of Untitled Memories represents a change of pace for Mirae Arts. Whereas previous drops from Seraphim Rytm and Michiru Aoyama have been largely or wholly ambient works, The Path Of Untitled Memories is a no-BS body-techno affair that nods to the Echochord school. Good craic.

Michiru Aoyama
Brilliant Days

Brilliant Days is the second release on vinyl from Japanese producer Michiru Aoyama. He lives by the sea in Kamakura, Japan, and this location informs his ambient music. Brilliant Days consists of two pieces of music made from electric guitar lines treated with electronics to create a serene soundscape. His work has been much praised by the legendary Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Aoyama has also reinforced his knowledge of electronic music with a stint in Berlin as well as releasing work on Organic Industries, Taalem and Somehow Recordings.

Seraphim Rytm
Prayers By The Lake

The first release on Mirae Arts comes courtesy of Seraphim Ritm, an alias of the artist you may know better as Damaskin. Prayer By The Lake is a four-part suite of glacial techno as cold and crisp as the snow-covered landscape on its cover. The stargazing sounds of Detroit are invoked here, but something about this EP situates it very much on planet Earth. It’s not dissimilar to something you might find coming out on Tresor. Nice work.
