Middle Kids
New Songs For Old Problems

Having gone from obscurity to support slots for Bloc Party to playing live on Jimmy Kimmel in little over 12 months, acclaimed Australian trio Middle Kids follow up last year’s debut album Lost Friends with a new six-track mini-album, titled New Songs For Old Problems. Expect more joyous indie-pop fun!

(Sandy) Alex G
DSU

Right, people. We've been listening to this in the office for what seems like the last 6 months and we think it's going to take you by storm. Think of all the '90's lo-fi greats (but particularly Pavement) rolled up into a one man slacker-pop songwriting machine and you are in the ballpark.  Get in on the ground floor.

Jay Som
Anak Ko

Jay Som is solely responsible for Anak Ko. She was songwriter and musician, producer and engineer. The result is a record that is indisputably hers. Though she proudly wears her influences on her sleeve (Cocteau Twins, the Cure etc...) there is no denying that she makes the realm of dream pop entirely her own.

(Sandy) Alex G
Trick

It's the new one from Alex G. Trick is the thirteen tracker from the Philadelphia based musician and songwriter. This is one for all the indie weirdos out there, with each track lead by Alex's wonky melancholic croon over an acoustic guitar, with some bits of casio keyboards and other lo-fi bits and bats. Think Mac Demarco & Elvis Depressedly. Out on vinyl LP and CD from Lucky Number.

Rules

Previously only available from Alex G’s bandcamp, Lucky Number announce the release of ‘Rules’, the most recent album by the Philadelphia-based songwriter. Following in the footsteps of his highly acclaimed 2014, fifth album release ‘DSU’, ‘Rules’ -which was recorded before ‘DSU’- has been remastered for vinyl release for the first time and is a well deserved document of the prolific songwriting personality that is Alex G.

Charly Bliss
Young Enough

Brooklyn four-piece, Charly Bliss, seem to have polished their act a little since their mid-fi debut, Guppy. It was a record that recalled ‘90s Boston band Letters To Cleo but with analogue electronics. On new long-player Young Enough, the melodies are similar but the sound is more polished. LP and CD on Lucky Number.

Ratso
Stubborn Heart

Ratso is a long-term fixture of New York’s music scene, and has written the memoirs of some big stars, including Anthony Kiedis. Now he is flipping the tables and, aged seventy, is releasing his own album for the first time. Stubborn Heart features one Dylan cover and eight original songs, some of them co-written with John Cale, with musical assistance offered by Sharon Robinson, Warren Ellis and Nick Cave. Quite the line-up for a writer’s album!

Darwin Deez
10 Songs That Happened When You Left Me With My Stupid Heart

He may have had those frizzy tight curls cut off but here he is with a moustache like that and posing top off for an album sleeve. This is his fourth album which sensibly avoids the current vogue for synth rock and electro textures and simply writes good simple guitar pop with tunes you can whistle. Maybe he's ok after all?

Middle Kids
Lost Friends

Lost Friends is the debut album from young Australian three-piece, Middle Kids. It follows on from their highly rated self-titled EP. Their brand of melodic indie-rock with hooks-a-plenty sees them ready for the big time. Limited edition ‘indies only’ lilac coloured vinyl LP, black vinyl LP and CD on Lucky Number.

Hinds
I Don't Run

Sophomore effort from formidable Spanish four-piece Hinds, following up 2016’s successful Leave Me Alone. Their playful garage-pop benefits this time from the input of The Strokes’ producer Gordon Raphael. I Don't Run is inspired by their life-altering last couple of years. Out on Lucky Number and available on indies-only clear vinyl.

Sunflower Bean
Twentytwo in Blue

Sophomore LP from New Yorkers Sunflower Bean, following up 2016’s Human Ceremony. The three-piece band return to their classic rock vibe, this time with lyrics influenced by the volatile political climate of the last couple of years. The sound of a young band getting stronger in an unstable world. On Lucky Number, and available in limited blue vinyl.

Dream Wife
Dream Wife

Debut from three-piece Dream Wife. Hailing from Brighton, London and Reykjavik, the project which began as a ‘fake band’ for an art project has morphed into something much more legit. Lively, colourful indie rock with sharp vocals and spiky political lyrics. They are now a long way from their lo-fi origins and claim they worship at the altar of David Bowie and Madonna.

Hinds
Leave Me Alone

Hinds are an all-girl indie four-piece with a DIY aesthetic. Their reverb-heavy guitars and call-and-response vocals are inspired by the ‘60s sun-kissed music of Californian beaches but also recall more modern bands such as Bleached, Best Coast and Dum Dum Girls. Their debut album, Leave Me Alone is getting plaudits from all the right places including BBC 6 Music, Pitchfork and NME.

Sleigh Bells
Jessica Rabbit

Sleigh Bells return with their first album in fully 3 years! Jessica Rabbit is just as it should be, with big fat pop song bangers driven by giant beats and pushed through filters of happy noise. The (limited to 1000 copies) LP edition is pressed to blood red splatter vinyl and comes with an exclusive bonus single-sided 7”! On Lucky Number.

Christian Rich
SS14

SS14 is the debut EP from Christian Rich AKA DJ and production duo and twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan. Nigerian raised, Chicago born, LA-based Christian RIch recently contributed to #1 Billboard albums for Drake, J Cole and Childish Gambino, as well as producing 4 tracks for Earl Sweatshirt's #1 Rap Billboard album, 'Doris'. Heavily championed by Gilles Peterson the four tracks on this debut create a collage of vintage and vanguard that immediately sets them apart.
