SHXCXCHCXSH
OUFOUFOF

Enigmatic Swedish producers SHXCXCHCXSH follow up August’s SHULULULU EP with a new full-length on their own Rösten label. The title of OUFOUFOF is to be read onomatopoeically. Rather than attempting to pull the sonics of club music apart as they have done on previous records, their fourth LP finds them lock into one rhythmic idea for the duration of each track. Not that they’re phoning it in, mind - the likes of ‘UUOUUOUU’ are caustic visions of techno.

SSTROM
Otider

SSTROM is one half of the even-harder-to-write-or-pronounce Swedish techno duo SHXCXCHCXSH, striking out on his own so as to be able to explore territory beyond his techno homelands. Various forms of house, some cold synth stuff, and even a touch of UK garage find their way into this full-length set of productions. Otider is a double LP release on the Rosten label.

SSTROM
Vitriol

Being half of SHXCXCHCXSH, there's an expectation of great things from this four-tracker. It certainly delivers, with a high degree of abstraction thrown in. Strangely reminiscent of very early Warp acid house and techno but with a contemporary propulsion and surprising subtlety, all underpinned by warm thuds and pulses.

SHXCXCHCXSH
Rosten 2

The wonderfully named SHXCXCHCXSH make techno as pretty as the contents of a gutter, their new 12" on Rösten following up the first in what is likely to be a series of churning rythmic maladies. If their Avian release SsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSs was anything to go on, this will be essential listening for lovers of noisy dancing.
