OL
Dismeteo

From Moscow, its OL. Dismeteo showcases the OL sound, which is an interesting thing, both spacey and spacious. Little synth pieces and beat patterns seem to be drifting around independently, until suddenly a sub-bass undertow or a distant 4/4 appears to make everything cohere. Seven tracks of this fine stuff, on the Motion Ward label.

Ultrafog
How Those Fires Burned That Are No Longer

Kouhei Fukuzumi has released a couple of cassettes for Japanese label Solitude Solutions and Spain's Angoisse imprint and now makes his vinyl debut as Utlrafog on Los Angeles' excellent Motion Ward label -- their previous release was an ace from uon (West Mineral Ltd.) 'How Those Fires Burned That Are No Longer' runs the duration of a mini-album, and is pure bliss from the off - with the torch song like ambient of opener 'Swallow', the more zoned and trippy 'OIO', and dreamy droner 'Golden Tundra'. On the flipside the beautifully majestic 'Trace' precedes the fluttering tropical Fourth World ambient of 'Scent' before 'Cependant' has us riding the skies. Tip for fans of uon, Space Afrika, GAS, Huerco S. etc.
