Buffalo Tom
Quiet and Peace

Boston, MA indie rock trio Buffalo Tom return with their 9th studio album, Quiet and Peace. It’s their first outing since 2011’s Skins and comes a full 30 years after their cracking J. Mascis produced self titled debut. The band have retained the same line-up for the entirety of their career and their sound has been tweaked slightly for each new album whilst still staying true to their gutsy indie-rock. Quiet and Peace sees the band digging more deeply into their emotional core. LP and CD on Schoolkids Records.

The Veldt
The Shocking Fuzz of Your Electric Fur: The Drake Equation

The Veldt's back story is an astonishing tale of two identical twin brothers who went against any kind of grain and made music throughout the '80s and '90s that baffled any record labels that tried to take them on but in 2016 sounds almost insanely influential. Their brand of soulful shoegaze most recalls like minded Londoners AR Kane but also serves as a kind of prototype for TV on the Radio especially on their early records. This new EP has everything place and to ensure these lesser known brothers become cult heroes whilst they are still alive.

Happy Abandon
Facepaint

Debut full length from North Carolina based three piece Happy Abandon, and it’s a powerful starting statement. Mixing the likes of Conor Oberst, Bon Iver, Alt-J, and Sigur Ros Facepaint presents soaring vocal harmonies with catchy, driving indie and enchanting earnestness. Whilst they insist it isn’t a break up album, I think it would suit. LP and CD on Schoolkids.
