Motorpsycho
Angels and Daemons at Play

A massive stack of Motorpsycho for you to dig into! Angels and Daemons at Play has been released as a double LP and a series of three EPs, plus a reissue of the late 90’s project that includes all the original material, plus three discs of rarities, B-sides and live recordings. Christ, that’s six CD’s-worth of wild Norwegianness!

Elder
Spires Burn / Release

Elder’s 2012 EP Spires Burn/Release gets reissued by Stickman Records (Motorpsycho, The Wedding Present). This is a superb stoner/doom two-track, one that combines some utterly brutal low end with the sort of vocals that would make James Hetfield feel like a proud father. A curiously overlooked moment in Elder’s catalogue, Spires Burn/Release definitely deserves its second shot at fame.

Papir
VI

On 'VI' -- sooo psych guys, thumbs up! -- the trio of Copenhageners calling themselves Papir continue to ply us with their blend of blissed-out psychedelic rock mixed with Kraut stylings. Epic, hypnotic, and drenched in reverb. Of course. A grand total of 4 songs on this record, but who's counting? Available in 180-gram transparent vinyl LP and CD versions, on Stickman records.

Papir
Papir

Danish group Papir release their debut LP via Stickman Records (Motorpsycho, The Wedding Present). The long-form instrumental psych-rock jams that make up Papir’s eponymous record are reminiscent of the likes of Fridge and Tortoise. There are strong whiffs of free jazz and electronic rock to the quieter sections of tracks like ‘UNE FRENSAL N-ERIT’.

Papir
V

Copenhagen's Papir are a skilful, youthful three-piece practiced at semi-improvisational psych. V has C Brøchmann on complicated drumming, N Sørensen's fuzz guitar channeling his love of ancient rock and Manuel Göttsching; and C. B. Clausen’s bass covering a wide sound palette. An hypnotic noise recalling Can or electric Miles. Cosmic drones, man. Mixed by John McEntire. 2x 180g LP with download code or double CD format, on Stickman.

Weedpecker
II

You may already be up to your third ear in III, the latest offering by Warszawa rockers Weedpecker. Yet Toronto’s Stickman Records are still keen to remind you that before III came I and II, so here’s a reissue of the latter. This music is exactly what you think music by a band named Weedpecker sounds like.

Elder
Elder

Elder’s debut album Elder took the psych stoner rock world by storm in 2007. Now, not only has Elder been remastered for your pleasure for its tenth anniversary - it also includes a reputedly rougher and heavier album Elder recorded prior to Elder, before they were even called Elder. A solid 180g coloured vinyl edition for the fans. Elder.

Orango
The Mules Of Nana

Orango are a Norwegian band who seem to be picking up the legacy of various rock bands who were getting busy in West Coast USA circa the early 70’s. That means a nutritious brew of blues, folk, soul and rich vocal harmonies: some of the stuff that is lesser spotted in contemporary rock musics. The Mules Of Nana is their sixth album. Released by Stickman.
