The Sarah revival continues with a re-issue of this the final record by 'second wave' Sarah records band Blueboy. The group are much loved for their literate and whip smart indie-pop and here create a beautiful work to rival the best releases on the label. Alastair Galbraith
Seconds Mark III

Alastair Galbraith is a musician and sound artist from New Zealand. He started out in The Rip before embarking on a solo career. He has previously collaborated with many of New Zealand’s underground luminaries such as The Clean’s Robert Scott, The Dead C’s Bruce Russell and Peter Jeffries of Nocturnal Projections. Seconds Mark III is a patchwork of reflective and yearning pieces that  his label, A Colourful Storm are delighted with.

Blueboy
If Wishes Were Horses

Indie pop label Sarah released Blueboy's first record back in 1992, so obviously this is a twee pop affair, though rather than be full of tender full-band choruses and jangly guitars, it's a lot slower and predominantly acoustic. This modest, little known record is back.

Christoph de Babalon / Mark
Split

Quite a unique split mini-LP this one as Berlin beatmaster Christoph de Babalon takes up three quarters with some of his menacing and complex breaks but leaves a little room at the end for the mysterious Mark returning to the label after a pair of stellar EPs as well as a couple of belter on Unterton. Here he provides a piece of isolationist woodwind entitled 'Duet for Melodica and Claves'.

Various
Still In My Arms: Compiled by Bayu and Moopie

Still In My Arms: Compiled by Bayu and Moopie is a compilation of IDM and Electronica  tracks that perfectly balance the cosmos and terra firma. It was compiled by A Colourful Storm label boss, Moopie, and enthusiastic crate digger, Bayu. It includes a track making its first ever appearance on wax by Proem, which had only previously been released on MiniDisc - think about that!  Other artists include Abfahrt Hinwil, Multiplex, Lackluster and Plod.

Velocette
Discotheque Saudades

Velocette is the long running project of producer Jason Williams. The name makes me think of indie-pop music for some reason but this is a collection of dreamy ambient suitable for after hours chill out and starlit home dreaming. Recommended to fans of Klaus Schulze and Stasis, this small run edition of 250 comes in reverse sleeve with liner notes.

Blueboy
Unisex

Sarah Records put out a few classic indie records in their time by artists such as The Field Mice and The Orchids. Unisex, the second album by Reading three-piece, Blueboy, was no exception. This is the first vinyl reissue since its original 1994 release. After a bunch of singles and three albums the band went their separate ways joining bands such as Arabesque, Lovejoy and Another Sunny Day.

Christoph de Babalon
Exquisite Angst

A Colourful Storm present some choice cuts from the 1990s archives of snarling darkjungle beat-breaker Christoph De Babalon. Six of the tracks have hopped over from his self-released digital compilations The Haunting Past Of Christoph De Babalon I & II, but there’s a pair of hitherto-unheard beasts in here as well. Blackest Ever Black could trace its ancestry to this stuff.

Stopouts / Klon Dump
Ahead Of Us / Do The Dump

Cracking split 12” here on A Colourful Storm from Stopouts AKA Andy Panayi and Rob Coleman and Klon Dump. Stopouts Ahead Of Us was originally released in 2002 on Groovepressure. The last time we heard from Klon Dump was their ambient tape on No Corner - this time they’ve got a bit of a monster-sized techno thing going on. RIYL Autechre, Dimbiman and unsurprisingly Klon Dump. Stopouts fans will probably like it too.
