IDLES
Brutalism

Brutalism is the latest thirteen-track release from Idles. A powerfully written and politically driven collection of music that packs a punch aimed at the current political climate in the UK. It is hardcore and punk, so what do you expect? Described as ‘ a deadly serious indictment on popular culture’ that is available Vinyl LP and CD.

Heavy Lungs
Measure

Heavy Lungs were given a helping hand by fellow Bristolians Idles when they released a split single together. Heavy Lungs are fronted by the one and only Danny Nedelko, so really Heavy Lungs gave Idles a helping hand first. It’s a chicken/egg situation I guess. Anyway, here we have a 5-track EP by Heavy Lungs all on their own. It’s called measure and is released via Balley Records which is owned by Idles' Joe Talbot.

Crows
Silver Tongues

Its Crows! The debut Crows album is Silver Tongues, and it is arriving any day now. The Crows sound is fairly gnarly post-punk, with low vocals, grinding basslines and distorted riffs. Not quite stoner, but with a good dose of motorik momentum driving the tunes. Crows. Silver Tongues is released by Bailey Records.

Lice
It All Worked Out Great

In yer face post-punk from Bristol’s Lice with this collection of two previously-released EPs on Joe “Idles” Talbot’s Balley Records. The material has circulated through the band’s live sets in the last few years and found its way onto record at last. They sound somewhere between The Fall and Public Image Ltd. to these ears, and pack in some provocative lyrics and super riffs to boot.
