Man Power
Apologue

Behold, the power of Man! Specifically, the power of tech producer and man Geoff Kirkwood to create some music. This latest show of Man Power for Dutch DGTL Records runs from jaunty acid and tech house on the a-side to a pretty marvellous and warm closing-montage disco in ‘Get Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready to Die)’ on the flip.

Collin Gorman Weiland
Issue No. Twenty-One

After releases on Downwards and Neverender, Collin Gorman Weiland releases this limited pressing EP on Jealous God. Issue No. Twenty-One is a caustic, noisy, and rhythmic beast. Nasty analogue sequences scrape into life with an hypnotic and almost nauseating effect, shifting from twisted 80’s techno soundtrack to noise piece a slow distorted voice murmurs in the background. Disconcerting? Yes.

The Fear Ratio
Refuge of a Twisted Soul

The Fear Ratio is a collaborative project between London techno DJ/producer Mark Broom and Croydon born techno producer James Ruskin. ‘Refuge Of A Twisted Soul’ is their latest release on Manchester based, independent, electro label Skam records. Combining the Balearic/Chicago and acid house influences of Broom with the hip hop/late 80’s Detroit inspired style of Ruskin, the pair have developed a soulfully heavy album.

Monolake
VLSI

New album from digital maestro Robert Henke under his Monolake alias. The title VLSI refers to the earliest generations of digital synthesisers, several of which were used to record this material. Some of these tracks are new versions of pieces that turned up in a recent EP series, while some are brand new. Released by Imbalance Computer Music.

J. Wiltshire
SH003

The third release on Super Hexagon comes from J. Wiltshire, who's previously been spotted on Hypercolour and also booted off the label with a split EP alongside Alma Construct (R&S). Here we have four cuts of precision-tooled electro/techno. These tracks have been getting some hefty DJ support, including Helena Hauff dropping 'Large Mammals' on her Radio 1 Residency show in November 2017.

Martin Jenkins
Dance Cave

Martyn Jenkins needs no introduction but I'm going to do so anyway as we want to sell some of these. Ok so it's the Pye Corner Audio bloke. Hopefully that's shifted a few. Normally known for his hugely sought after nostalgic synth work, this is his first foray into techno. US import so it's very pricey but a must have for completists.

Alma Construct & J. Wiltshire
SH001

Alma Construct (R&S) and J. Wiltshire (Hypercolour) split one in half for the first release on Super Hexagon. Across four cuts we get some expertly crafted, lush, dynamic and quirky Braindance flavoured electro(nica) that wouldn't have been out of place on Rephlex back in the day. pressed on 180g wax.

Jeff Mills
And Then There Was Light

Techno legend Jeff Mills is still churning out tracks at the rate of an industrial 4x4 Detroit beat, only sometimes taking a break to work on soundtracks. His latest project is the soundtrack for Tatsushi Ohmori’s love-affair thriller Let There Be Light, originally released as Hikari. We're expecting some cinematographic beats.

Answer Code Request
Gens

Four years on from the debut Answer Code Request LP Code and the Berghain resident issues this murky, tense follow-up. Gens is a pretty unremitting listen. Most of the tracks here see monolithic four-on-the-floors shrouded in great billows of hissing reverb. Unearthly synths and clanking percussion skulk in the fog. Only on the likes of the mournfully weightless ‘Orarum’ does the haze clear.

Physical Therapy
Time Saving Tips For DJ's Vol. 1

Four house-rooted club tracks make up this energetic EP on Exotic Dance. Starting out with a barnstorming disco edit, the EP then moves onto a charged but atmospheric piano led cut. The B side takes things into a more abstract territory with distorted, broken beats before finishing on a low key rave tip.

Archivist & Fugal
Undertow

When you call the first track of your EP ‘Being And Nothingness’, chances are that the music within probably isn’t going to be a knees-up. True to form, Undertow is a moody thing from Seattle artist Archivist and Berlin’s Fugal, with each three originals murky techno numbers in the vein of someone like Ben Klock. Acronym’s remix of ‘Far Horizon’ does little to lift the gloom.
  • Genre(s):

Ikonika
Oral Suspension

It’s a good year for Ikonika fans: as well as the full-length LP Distractions that we all enjoyed earlier this year, we also now have new track Oral Suspension and a remix of same by Big Strick! This track is classic Ikonika, rolling offbeat rhythms propping up glassy synths with more than a touch of 80’s video game aesthetics to them. Lovely stuff. 10” on Don’t Be Afraid.

Lauer / The Golden Filter
CinCin10

London lot Cin Cin scramble chums Phillip Lauer and Empire Stater duo The Golden Filter for this split twelve. Lauer paints his side with gleeful electro; ‘Arumba’ sounds like a donkey having a good time in an eighties club. The GF go for a rather more minimal tech house style, with uneasy vocal snippets and resonances slithering their way around the rattles and pulses.

Richie Hawtin
From My Mind To Yours

Veteran producer Richie Hawtin presents a smorgasbord of techno delights, all newly recorded. Featuring projects such as Childsplay, Robotman and F.U.S.E., From My Mind To Yours provides 14 tracks of deep cuts spread over 2 CDs. You know the deal with Hawtin, only the finest dancefloor materials. On the Plus 8 label.

IVVVO
Theories of Anxiety

The latest from Terrain Ahead co-founder IVVVO, Theories Of Anxiety does what it proclaims on the tin. Dream sequences and snatched glimpses of melody swoop in and out of earshot whilst a warped techno template holds the wayward compositions together. Dark and distant sounds from just beyond the dancefloor. Out on vinyl 12” from Danse Noire.

Surgeon
Rare Tracks 95-96 (2014 Remaster)

Surgeon has been doing this shit for years, and lest you forget that fact, he is in the middle of a six-part reissue campaign on SRX. Rare Tracks 95-96 gives you four slices of classic power-techno, originally only on compilations or super-rare white labels. All remastered, all high-grade Surgeon dancing material.

Dungeon Acid
Dog Acid / Sex Beat

Dungeon Acid is Jean-Louis Huhta, who has been at the core of some of the most interesting music made in the Swedish scene over the years, from Cortex to The Skull Defekts. This 7” is titled Dog Acid b/w Sex Beat, and it delivers on its dirty dancefloor promises by being straight-up potent slices of acidic beat electronics. 7” single from Hoga Nord.

Various
Anonymous Delusional Eros

A short compilation of six highly disciplined techno pieces and a disorientating title. Anonymous Delusional Eros comes courtesy of the ol’ Nous imprint. Ayln kicks things off with a lovely metallic flange on the hats and a tumbling kick. D104’s piece is especially spacious and tense, while Gaunt’s contribution sounds like Burial in space. Dreams rounds things off with an engrossing, up-close shuffle and vicious snare-slaps. Music for haunted space stations and/or Berghain.

Grad_U
Space Explorations EP

Lithuanian Deep Techno project Grad_U has turned out enough high quality tracks and remixes over the years that the Echocord label have given him a full EP’s worth of space to fill. What they (and you, dear purchaser) get is a dubby trio of tracks, super-suited to low-end favouring dancefloors.
  • Genre(s):

Jono Ma & Dreems
The Dreemas

The result of a sonic affair between two friends in two European outposts, an EP of lushness and post-modern audio soundwaves. These three tracks represent a meeting of minds distilled into anthemic, distorted techno, or bouncing melodic house, full of synthetic colour washes and dizzying sonic debris.
  • Genre(s):
  • Techno / Dub Techno / Experimental House

Fluxion
Upsides & Sideways EP

Athens native Fluxion is a neat fit for Copenhagen’s Echochord, and the Greek producer obliges with three pieces of sombre minimal techno. The dubby chemtrails that permeate Upsides & Sideways make these tracks good mid-set ballast, with ‘En Route’ in particular sure to fit nicely into many a mix across 2018.

NHK yx Koyxen
Exit Entrance

This is most welcome news: lopsided dance miscreant Kohei Matsunaga is back! His new record for the NHK yx Koyxen record is also his first for DFA, offering the usual medley of melody, abstraction and frantic programmed drumwork. With his love of pitching anything and everything, it's hard to know what to predict beyond an unabashed foray into dance experiments.

Louis Guilliaume
Born Free 29

Rotterdam producer Louis Guillaume drops three wads of awkwardly funky techno for Born Free. In so doing, he betrays his true identity as Akai’s hardest-working product tester. Between his gritty production and highly playful style, Guillaume manages to get some outrageous grooves going. What’s more, the acid synth on one of these cuts is as gleefully squelchy as a pair of wellied feet tapdancing across a muddy field.

Wilted Woman
Home Listener

Wilted Woman comes creeping out of an accomplished romp in the cassette-label underground to present this formidable foray into the vinyl format for the ever-excellent Alien Jams label. The sound and vessel are a natural fit, with WW’s errant analogue bleep abstractions pinging out into a wonderfully gritty yet cosmic kind of techno.

Cristian Vogel
Classics Remastered 1993-1998

A very fine retrospective of important Chilean / UK producer Cristian Vogel’s forward-looking 90’s techno tracks. Classics Remastered 1993-1998 has wide-eyed high-energy club vibes for days, and each track is newly remastered for extra kick. Out on Sub Rosa in differently-tracklisted 2CD and 2LP versions.

Call Super
Arpo

Fresh from a collaborative 12” with Beatrice Dillon, here is the new full-length statement from Call Super. Arpo is his second album, and it inhabits that super-textured ambient-leaning techno space that we’ve come to love from the producer. Eleven tracks deployed across CD and double LP editions, from Houndstooth.

Future Beat Alliance
Collected Works 1996-2017

Matthew Puffett lays out the history of his work under the name Future Beat Alliance for us here, with a triple LP set that spans twenty-one years of activity. The Alliance sound has always had an interesting take on techno, with lots of Detroit vibes combining with a love for hip-hop and a preference for hot, soulful productions over that more detached techno vibe. Triple LP compilation on Matthew’s own FBA Recordings.

Nukubus
Para

Nukubus is Jan Katsma from friends of Bunker, Syncom Data. Para is his first solo outing for three years and sees him ramping up the dub on six synth workouts. Powerful yet restrained, in places, the pieces are reminiscent of the tunes Katsma/SD did for Dettmann and Stingray mixtapes. 12” on Laura Lies.

DJ Spider & Franklin De Costa
F Planet

Spacious and claustrophobic at the same time, DJ Spider & Franklin De Costa's 'F Planet' gives us grumbling, percussive techno, rising and dipping in sonic height. The free manipulations lend the tracks a unique sense of life, patches of noise here, wild frequency and filter shifts there, evolving in two directions at once. Includes a killer remix by the mighty Shifted (Avian, Mote-Evolver, Hospital Productions).

John Selway / Seltav
Shimmerdown / SPQR

The remasters on this record deliver a huge sonic thrust to the original tracks, preparing them for the modern body moover. On the A side there's a deep, soulful, keys-driven cut, full of cosmic bleeps and chopped beats whilst the B side lets things totally loose in anthemic tripped out house style.

Florian Kupfer
Florian Kupfer

Back on Ron Morelli’s grinding L.I.E.S. imprint, Florian Kupfer returns for yet more lo-fi, industrially-flavoured, analogue madness that threatens to rattle its house and techno template until it falls clean apart. With track titles like ‘Random Chaos’ and a closer that’s simply the letter ‘Z’, you know what kind of unorthodox attitudes to expect by now.

DeepChord
Auratones

Deepchord really allows himself to expand his sounds here on this double-length LP, surely a perfect format for a producer with such a woozy, immersive ambient approach to dub techno. Auratones’ twelve tracks create a positive space for the listener to dance and / or dream in. Released as a 2LP on the Soma label.

El Tipo Mas Bonito En La Generacion De Los Feos (Greg Beato)
El Tipo Mas Bonito En La Generacion De Los Feos

El Tipo Mas Bonito En La Generación De Los Feos is a rather elaborate alias of producer Greg Beato, and this compilation rounds up a stack of rare cuts from him. Eleven tracks over two LPs and you’ll have heard very few of them before, I bet you. El Tipo Mas Bonito En La Generación De Los Feos is out on Greg’s Ni Un Pero label.

Fort Romeau

Two cuts from producer Fort Romeau, commissioned by DGTL Records in order to represent the label / festival. GAS
Narkopop

Well what do we have here then? Following on from that enormous box set of his greatest work of 20 years vintage, Wolfgang Voigt re-ignites his Gas project with a new album which, though it continues the thick foggy sonics of earlier work introduces dense and sometimes atonal sonics to the magical mist with that pulsing kick drum as always ever present.

Virginia
Blue Pyramid

It’s high time the Psychic TV catalogue got a reappraisal, and Dark Entries are just the label to do the job. Working in tandem with Emotional Rescue, they’ve dug out this blistering set of early house wares from Dave Ball of Soft Cell his wife Virginia, whose violin flairs create a wild texture over the staggeringly prescient and wonderfully menacing club cuts.

Clark
Honey Badger / Pig

Clark knocks out a heavy pair of homages - one to the honey badger, a fierce little mustelid famous for behaving as if it’s all out of bubblegum and one to the less exotic, more industrially-farmed pig. Though still of the gentler production style Clark has developed in the last few years, this material hearkens a decade back to the most muscular of his Turning Dragon period. Aggressively playful techno-IDM.

Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald
Transport Remixed

Was the superstar team-up of Juan Atkins and Moritz von Oswald not impressive enough for you already on their album Transport? Well then, better throw another big-deal producer in on the remix duties: Carl Craig! Carl has produced a 20-minute remix that is too large for this 12” vinyl, so the wax contains an edit, plus a further remix of that remix… Along with download code for the full business. On Tresor.

Frak
Lane Escape EP

Frak's 'Lane Escape EP' is one of those great records that manages to combine dirty, understated acid with weirdly soulful Chicago house hooks, resulting in an exercise in propulsion and retro-minimalism. This irresistible four track release is a meeting of worlds, played out in four to the floor analogue harmony.

DJ Sling
The Secret EP

Despite being involved in music since 2001 this is the first solo release from Swedish promoter, producer, and DJ, DJ Sling. He attributes these four tracks to the psychosomatic so of course this one for those whole like their house a bit wonky and psychedelic. Released on 12” by DJ Sling’s own Born Free label.

Pinch
Brain Scan

Savage doesn't conform to tempo traditions; what better way to demonstrate its slower incarnations than with this 12" from Pinch. Over three cuts the descriptor is deployed in various ways - the distorted kick backing of the title track, the deep bass and growls of 'Street Light' and the threatening trudge and machine whirrs of 'Abducted'.

Ploy
Unruly

Ploy's latest offers several shades of understated intensity, switching between stuttering, claustrophobic drum workouts, and snatches of atmosphere and space pulses. This record keeps the producers uncompromising dance floor approach up in dark style. More unnerving goodness from Hemlock Recordings.

Alejandro Mosso
Gaia

Six new tracks from Alejandro Mosso, who reckons that this set represents a move away from sheer dancefloor utilitarianism and towards electronic music narratives: songs if you will. Gaia’s tracks are all named for celestial bodies, and they do feel like expressions of something, even if they still retain the power to make you move those feet. Double 12” on Hivern Discs.

Personable
Oyster

Tracks released by Ged Gengras under his Personable moniker tend to fizz with fresh energy: probably a consequence of his ‘live-in-the-studio’ production approach. House-garage-techno jams with a bounce and a punch, from a real synth talent. 4 tracks on Oyster, which is released by Black Opal.

Damon Wild
Cosmic Path

Damon Wild's 'Cosmic Path' is very cosmic indeed, consisting of layers of synths and conscious machines gliding and bleeping over a relentless framework of techno beats. It's like alien trance music, acidic in structure, bordering on ritualistic in repetition, clear as a bell and as distant as unknown worlds.
  • Genre(s):
  • Techno / Dub Techno / Experimental House

Seph
Teleport EP

Superb, melodic and driving techno from Argentinian techno producer Seph, moving around various styles over the three tracks. Teleport has a retro synth hook at its heart, with pounding drums keeping it rooted to the floor. Delta takes things into a duskier realm with a broken beat, whilst Motion is a future Deutsch school classic.
  • Genre(s):

Bonebrokk
Hollow Systems

Bonebrokk is honoured to be the first artist to ever be released as a vinyl edition on the Trial & Error label. Hollow Systems is a pounding techno trip in four tracks, bolstered by a fifth track in the form of a Jay Glass Dubs re-versioning of ‘Choose Ur Illusion’. What a treat! Sleek and powerful dancefloor destroyers.

Tres Demented (Carl Craig)
Brainfreeze

Carl Craig’s entirely unhinged surging blast of techno, Brainfreeze, gets a welcome reissue on the Memento label. The flip side contains a bonus remix by Luciano. The track was originally released in 2006 and cemented him as one of the most important names in the second wave of Detroit’s dance music scene.

rRoxymore
Thoughts Of An Introvert Pt. 1

rRoxymore delivers three mid-length tracks on this here 12” EP for Don’t Be Afraid. Thoughts of an Introvert, Pt. 1 is indeed kind of introverted in its production style, with a rolling, pulsating electronic landscape that seems to be driving at something deep within. Still, could definitely get moving to those drums.

Lots of voices turn up on The Desecration Of Desire, with guest vocalists including Mark Lanegan, Anika and Gazelle Twin. On Skint.

Tyler Dancer
Resisting In The Darkness

Don’t Be Afraid welcome an up and coming talent from Detroit in the shape of Tyler Dancer, who was recently spotted working the buttons with the legendary Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir on a remix of Funkadelic. This is gritty outboard techno loaded with personality and flair, all bloated kicks and freaky synths for those who like their parties dark and decadent, but it’s also immensely fun as well.

Juju & Jordash
Sis-boom-bah!

Amsterdam’s trustiest pair of hardware-wielding cosmic warriors return to their home turf of Dekmantel with another rich and varied trip through elevated musicianship played on the finest studio gear. Nick Klein
The Lonesome Dealer

Nick Klein comes to the dancefloor from a performance and sound-art background, mixing up noise-damaged industrial techno with a real kick to it. The 4 tracks of The Lonesome Dealer are heavy and woozy and carefully constructed for precision impact. This 12” is released by Luke Younger (aka Helm)’s Alter label.

FatCat love making new subsidiary labels for themselves but this one feels particularly special: FCR is an homage to the days when they were not yet a label but in fact a record store in Crawley selling techno. It's Squirrels release no. 2, Kit 'n C.L.A.W.S -- Squirrels On Film's Brian Hock and SanFran man Kit Clayton -- and the Urn Of Stilled Sorrows EP: a swimmy-headed trip for inter-dimensional dancers. Clayton 'n' Hock's sound worlds meld smoothly, where subterranean chords grind and groove against swooning woodwind atmospheres, 303 squelches and meandering synth melodies. A mesmeric 12".

Steffi
World Of The Waking State

Having moved to Berlin in 2007, Steffi became a resident at Panorama Bar and soon began to release on the club’s label; Ostgut Ton. World of The Waking State is her third solo album for Ostgut Ton and is an ensnaring mix of heavy club beats and shadowy electronics. The ten tracks across this LP differ in mood and tempo but keep an inflective and refined approach throughout, marking Steffi with her own distinct style. Available as a vinyl LP or CD.

Midland
FABRICLIVE 94: Midland

The rising star has risen - Midland has made it onto the headline slot at Fabric room 1 and here is the Fabriclive mix to prove it. Packed full of tunes from talented folks like Daphni, Beatrice Dillon, LFO, and Kowton, expect things from dank bass-techno hybrids to dancefloor euphoria. Hard work pays off after all.

Blondes
Warmth

After three albums on Rvng Intl. New York duo Blondes join R&S for their latest full length. Growing from a love of repetition and dense texture layers, they have made the natural transformation into full blown techno. On Warmth they ramp up the percussion even further than before whilst maintaining the precise texture driven themes, post 5am techno at its peak.

Nathan Fake
Providence Reworks: Part I

First revisit of Nathan Fake’s Providence full length bringing two remixes, with Overmono (Truss and Tessela) and Huerco S. reworking the Prurient collab track DEGREELESSNESS and Olga Wojciechowska taking on Hoursdaysmonthsseasons. To top it off the EP features a brand new track from Nathan Fake - Bosky.

Trickfinger
II

Since leaving The Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante has been working way more on his electronics, releasing through labels like Acid Test. However he had been doing this stuff for a while. These are the second set of tracks to be released from his original ventures as Trickfinger. Just him and a load of sequencers and synths, jamming until he presses record, with no over dubs. Recorded in 2007. Sounds close to Aphex Twin on an acid tip.

Achim Maerz
Experiments EP

Experiments (Appendix A/B) is a collection of 12 improvised house jams recorded at Achim Maerz’s house in his native Hamburg. Titled Experiments for its rough and un-processed approach, the album is a bubbling collection of chilled House grooves, which come together to create a relaxing and unusual experience.   Available as a 12" LP or limited cassette.
  • Genre(s):
  • Techno / Dub Techno / Experimental House

Pessimist
Pessimist

After releases on Osiris, UVB-76 and A14, Bristol based producer Pessimist found a home for his dark twisted and techy drum and bass at Blackest Ever Black. Now releasing his first full length record with them as a self titled. Ten tracks of brooding dystopian D’n’B and techno deconstruction. Bleak and heavy, just how Blackest Ever Black like it.

Earlham Mystics
Waters EP

Waters is a four-track EP from Earlham Mystics. It can only be described as a collection of head-heavy beats and repetitive notes played on a variety of differing electronic instruments. The record feels like it could be in any smokey underground and late night club as you get lost in the rhythmic soundscapes. This EP is available on Vinyl 12” and is released on Notown.

Carsten Jost
Perishable Tactics

David Lieske has been keeping himself busy with various activities, but it’s been a colossal amount of time since he last released a full-length under his Carsten Jost moniker (2000!). Perishable Tactics combines brand new material with a few previously issued limited-release cuts, with the whole thing meshing together into a sterling example of agitated house music. CD / double LP release on Dial.

Neil Landstrumm
Kris P Lettuce

This one comes with a serious wonkiness warning. Scottish producer Neil Landstrumm  was an early purveyor of the wonky techno genre and with releases on Planet Mu, Tresor, Mord and Snork Enterprises he leads the crowds still. With this new EP, Kris P Lettuce on Elektron Grammofon, we can promise it isn’t in anyway related to the kids toys, but is just as warped.

Stephen Brown
Power Factor EP

Gracing the washy techno shores of Echocord this August is Stephen Brown, a veteran of dance music proving it indubitable on Power Factor. Here he works with stripping away texture as much as he does developing it, taking out layers to emphasise kicks on "Sandtext" and going hushed with the delay on "Wet". The record speaks to Brown's powers of hypnosis throughout.

Dan Caballero is part of the Underground Resistance family, mixing their tracks as well as working with Los Hermanos, Orlando Voorn, and DJ 3000. Cop Envy
TS014

Sydney based techno producer Thomas McAlister (Sean Thomas) takes his Cop Envy moniker and moves to Templar Sound for his second EP. Bringing two worlds together he meshes the tight low end of detroit and tops it off with dirty hoover synths and british rave nastiness. Sweaty and raucous, delicious.

Various (AFX, Bjarki, Nina Kraviz, Biogen)
Когда Мне Было 14 Лет / When I Was 14

Когда Мне Было 14 Лет is a double EP with an ‘anti-perfectionist’ ethos: material that captures artists creating on the fly, without polish, just the raw goodness. Nina Kraviz, BJarki and Barcode Population all feature, as does a 90’s track from big dog Aphex Twin himself, under his AFX alias. On Trip Kraviz.

HOM
A$X

The cryptically titled HOM is the solo project of Seattle-based artist Ashley P. Svn, a sometime member of the Pacific North-West’s UV Acid project and a part of Thee Source as well. This album, A$X, is unadulterated Bay Area electronica, and comes in a fluorescent green sleeve with pink foil-stamped decorations. Handsome!

Terence Fixmer
Force EP

French techno producer and Berghain resident Terence Fixmer has releases on Jealous God, CLR, and Deeply Rooted, now he returns home to Ostgut Ton for his second EP with them. Putting a track in each corner of his club’s stylistic needs he goes through dark, menacing, ethereal, and percussively tight.
  • Genre(s):
  • Techno / Dub Techno / Experimental House

Ekman
Sturm Und Drang / First Mover

Loves a bit of the old electro, does our Ekman. This is exactly what the Dutch producer gives us with A-side ‘Sturm Und Drang’ here. However, the crunching heft of industrial techno is something that’s less common on an Ekman drop, making the Fret-style ‘First mover’ a pleasant surprise for your inner beat-freak. ‘Sturm Und Drang’/‘First Mover’ is out via Shipwrec (DMX Krew, The Exaltics).

Kern Vol. 4 mixed by DJ Stingray

Kern means core in German, and is a mix series from the Tresor label. The last three instalments mixed by Objekt, DJ Deep, and DJ Hell, now Detroit’s DJ Stingray (Urban Tribe) is at the helm for volume 4. Featuring cuts from Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Illektrolab, Professor X, NRSB-11, and Herva.

Patricia
Several Shades Of The Same Color - Part 1

Making sense of some of these press releases makes my brain want to turn itself inside out. Luckily the one phrase 'multifaceted techno trip" pretty much describes the music of Patricia (actually a man  - whoda thunk?) and from the earlier work by this shadowy composer I deduce that this will be well worth waiting out for for fans of dark techno, miserable synth, Demdike Stare and Stotty.

Psychic TV
Alien Be-In Remix EP

The classic 1989 Psychic TV track Alien Be-In, presented in full remastered glory and accompanied by two remixes. The original track captures the band’s wyrd take on Acid House, and remixes from Silent Servant and John Tejada push the sound into more contemporary forms of bangin’. Real striking packaging too!

Derivatives
Forwards, Futures and Options

Exciting debut release from Derivatives, a Vancouver producer who seems to have a keen interest in both minimal club tracks and complex financial instruments. The tight, clipped structures of Forwards, Futures and Options already express a clear personal identity, which has been honed through plenty of popular live sets. 12” released by Transfusions and Medical Records.
