Bass Clef
Celescating

Bass Clef is back on The Trilogy Tapes with a chirpy triple-threat. Following a series of pretty avant releases from the likes of DJ Residue and Metasplice it’s good to see Will Bankhead’s label releasing something a little more club-friendly again. Celescating is good clean fun from Bass Clef, all wiggly techno grooves and buoyant synth melodies. Joe Goddard would be pleased with these.

HSBC (Heatsick & Bass Clef)
Die Blaue Stunde

Well this should be an instant purchase for anyone familiar with the personnel: Heatsick and Bass Clef are two of the most interesting and creative makers of wryly smart electronic music about at the moment, and Die Blaue Stunde would appear to be their first recorded work together. And their duo name is HSBC! Five track EP released in a limited edition of 500 12”s on the AB CD LP label.

Bass Clef
Interform Untunnel

Bass Clef can always be relied upon to provide fun, banging, creatively-thought-out dancefloor tunes, and the pair we receive on Interform Untunnel are no exception. These tracks duck and swoop and shuffle atypically, with addictive melodies and rhythms routed through the Bass Clef assembly of synths and machines. Addictive jams on The Trilogy Tapes.

Bass Clef
Entendrillar

Two new cuts from Bass Clef, the ever-reliable project of Ralph Cumbers. Typically for a Clef production, Entendrillar is exuberant, fun and addictive, weaving a dense nest of synths and rhythms that’ll get you nodding and / or shimmying. And B-side ‘Transprism’ is no slouch either! Strong 12” release on The Trilogy Tapes.

Bass Clef
Chanson du Ricochet

You can count on Bass Clef eh? Here he is with two new tracks pressed up by Rudimentary, and what tasty treats they are. While keeping the tracks on a danceable level (these could be played out, to wondrous effect), Ralph Cumbers does his remarkable high-energy electronic twingling all over the top. Lots of fun.

Bass Clef
Stenaline Metranil Solar Flare (Bass Clef Remix / Pev Remix)

Deliciously titled single from Bass Clef. This 12” presents two different remixes of Strenaline Metranil Solar Flare (a track from Clef’s 2012 Reeling Skullways album), one by the man himself, and one Peverelist, boss of the Punch Drunk label that is releasing this record. Psychedelic bounce in abundance, full of enjoyment.
