Reigning Sound
Abdication... For Your Love

New edition of Reigning Sound’s 2011 LP Abdication… For Your Love here, courtesy of the good people at Merge Records. If you like your garage rock full of dinky organ melodies and delivered with a whole hunk of Southern charm, then this is right record for you. Reigning Sound main man Greg Cartwright has some serious songwriting chops, you know.

Reigning Sound
I’ll Cry

Oi garage punks, listen to this. Reigning Sound mix together their no frills guitars with subtle surf edges and glorious harmonies you wouldn't usually get out of a straight-and-narrow chord-chug fest. Greg Cartwright's new music is rough around the edges but nice and cosy on the inside, and this 7" has got as much soul as it has punk rock. 'I'll Cry' continues to make the oldest garage rocker sound new again.

Reigning Sound
Shattered

Greg Cartwright hasn't got Reigning Sound, his rotating band of merry men, in gear to release a record since 2009, but now they return with their debut for Merge, 'Shattered'. Cartwright decided he wanted to make a perfectly balanced kind of rock record: some heart-breaking balladry, some raucous bits, and the magic number of eleven songs.

Reigning Sound
Live at Goner Records

Reigning Sound Live At Goner Records was recorded in 2005, the day after a high-octane gig at The Buccaneer in Memphis, Tennessee. The performance was originally released as a CD-R to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina and was subsequently released on vinyl which was then deleted. Once again, this fantastic performance of a band at the height of their powers is available on vinyl LP with digital download and CD.
