Pelican
The Cliff

Some weighty business from Pelican. The Cliff is the new EP from these Chi-town head nodders. This is a record of remixes from other sludge lords from ISIS and Godflesh. A combination of a bone crushing low end, melodic guitar picking, gruffly warm vocals and trudging drums. A mixture of post-rock, stoner rock and metal with a pretty big hook at the end - whats not to like? Out on 12" vinyl from Southern Lord.

Trevor De Brauw
Uptown

Trevor De Brauw is the guitarist of Pelican, and this is his first solo release. Although don’t assume that he’s only just had the idea: Uptown has been slowly created over the course of the last ten years. Uptown pushes away from songs and riffs and into dense drone-ambient territory, where it turns out Trevor is a master of the kind of careful control needed to really succeed with this stuff. CD and LP editions on The Flenser.
