Au Revoir Simone
Crazy / Somebody Who

The '80s fixation continues with this slab of goodness from the New York trio. I’ve done that listen-to-the-B-side-first thing again and have had to completely rewrite this review accordingly. ‘Crazy’ has come lolloping out of the stereogram on one of my regular visits to 6music. It's an extremely catchy slab of electronic pop....view item »

Tell Me - Villa Nah Remix

These Au Revoir Simone remixes have, in my humble opinion, been pretty good from what I can tell. I've not really paid much attention to the group before but in Villa Nah's hands they sound like three whole bunches of fun, sitting somewhere between Tom Tom Club and UK synth pioneers The Pet shop Boys. Au Revoir Simone's original mix reminds me o...view item »

Au Revoir Simone
Night Light (The Remixes)

As of the time of writing we've not heard the normal version of this album yet so a direct comparison between the regular versions and the thirteen remixes here isn't gonna happen but I'll do my best to give you a rough idea of it on its own terms. Au Revoir Simone
Sad Song

Put your hands together for Au Revoir Simone and their new 7" on Moshi Moshi titled Sad Song. Am not really too keen on much Moshi stuff but I think Au Revoir Simone stand out from the rest of the pack.. This new single is some European style indie electro pop which reminds us of Donna Regina, Masha Qrella etc... Very nice....view item »

Au Revoir Simone
Fallen Snow

AU REVOIR SIMONE have won the award this week for perplexing me beyond words. The vocals are like a straighter take on Cocorosie with the whole feel being somewhere between Pipettes, Broadcast & Mates of State. Delightfully disembodied radio pop with effortless interweaving sing-song vocal harmonies over a jaunty yet sinister backing track that...view item »
