My Brightest Diamond
A Million and One

A Million And One is the seventh album by My Brightest Diamond AKA Shara Nova. It is a record she’s made for the city of Detroit, a city that holds a special place in her heart. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, The White Stripes, Carl Craig and Patti Smith, Nova has pulled in big-shot producer The Twilite Zone (Gorillaz, Common, Kanye West) and mixing engineer Andrew Scheps (Lana Del Rey, Adele, Red Hot Chilli Peppers) to strip back her layers to make instant impact. LP and CD on Rhyme and Reason Records.

My Brightest Diamond
This Is My Hand

'This Is My Hand' is the fifth record by indie folk songwriter Shara Worden under her My Brightest Diamond alias, released on Sufjan Steven's Asthmatic Kitty label. Worden's booming voice is complemented by an array of percussion and theatrical synth and what has been described as "huge production", suggesting a less folk directed sound.    Tracks: Pressure Before The Words This Is My Hand Lover Killer I Am Not The Bad Guy Looking At The Sun Shape So Easy Resonance Apparition

My Brightest Diamond
None More Than You

• The lullaby ‘Dreaming Awake’ was originally performed as a duet with circular-breathing sax titan Colin Stetson. It opens this mini album in a tense, minimal Son Lux Mix but Lux’s raw electronic treatment only draws more attention to Worden’s achingly tender vocal performance. • ‘Dreams Don’t Look Like’ originated as silent movie music, an extract from Worden’s score for ‘The Balloonatic’ by Buster Keaton. • ‘That Point When’, a song Worden initially arranged to sing with The Orchestra For The Next Century, defies gravity too: musically and lyrically ambiguous, majestically lighter than air. • In the Autumn of 2014, Asthmatic Kitty Records will release My Brightest Diamond’s fourth full- length, ‘This Is My Hand’. • “Combining brainy indie-pop with touches of art- rock and classical music, Worden’s work - and her first single in particular - radiates brilliance to match her considerable ambition.” - NPR • Initial pressing on semi-transparent lavender vinyl. • Features Carnegie Hall performers Khorikos. • Includes download card.
