New album from digital maestro Robert Henke under his Monolake alias. The title VLSI refers to the earliest generations of digital synthesisers, several of which were used to record this material. Some of these tracks are new versions of pieces that turned up in a recent EP series, while some are brand new. Released by Imbalance Computer Music.
Three new ones from Robert Henke’s erstwhile Monolake project for you to chew over. PAN is as precisely crafted as ever, each track cleanly constructed from exactly the right elements, adding up to pristine electronic beauty. With subtle dancefloor kicks underneath, of course. 12” release from Henke’s very own Imbalance Computer Music label.
Robert Henke, the mind behind Monolake, can often come across clinical and restrained in his productions. That’s no bad thing, but on C G he strikes out with a pair of hard hitters, ready to cause flurries of action on the dancefloor. Inventive productions, driven by irresistibly firm rhythms. 12” on Imbalance Computer Music.
This split 12” is part of the 50Weapons label’s final series of 11 records, and pairs up producer Anstam with Robert Henke’s Monolake project. Ever conceptually bold, Henke’s track VT-100 was made with a LinnDrum and nothing more, whereas Anstam’s Dolores is a lovely experimental blast. 180g 12”.
