Micah P. Hinson
When I Shoot At You With Arrows, I Will Shoot To Destroy You

Strong words from Texas native Micah P. Hinson, although his album seems to be on target if you're big into distorted singer-songwriter stuff with a retro early 2000s feel. When I Shoot at You With Arrows, I Will Shoot to Destroy You is the 4th album by the man who considers Obama to be 'the Murderer of the American Dream'--whatever that means.

Micah P. Hinson And The Opera Circuit
Micah P. Hinson And The Opera Circuit - 10th Anniversary Edition

The biggest surprise of 2017 so far as that Micah P Hinson wasn't down to play at the Trump Inauguration  - his political views lying somewhere to the right of the Most Important Man in the World (tm). Instead he's been getting together a 10th anniversary re-issue of this his second album which was recorded while he was addicted to painkillers after a 'play fight' with a pal led to a bad back. His sensuous chocolate drawl and sensitive songwriting belies the real Hinson in those days and at the time this was viewed as a supreme example of caramel flavoured alt country.

Presents The Holy Strangers

Micah P Hinson returns with a new album which he describes as a folk opera going from birth to love to death. He recorded it in Texas using ancient recording methods for that authentic feel. Despite that Quietus interview he still has plenty of fans out there who will lap these sparse and haunting songs up.

And The Red Empire Orchestra

'And The Red Empire Orchestra' is the fourth record from the horror-flick country savant Micah P Hinson, who spends his time detailing gruesomely personal stories with titles like "Dyin' Alone" -- sparing none of the Texan slur that makes them feel all the more lonesome. The record continued to prove Hinson to be the possessor of one of the best baritones in the game.

Micha P. Hinson & The Gospel Of Progress

Re-issue of Micah P Hinson's first album from 2004 where we all enjoyed his music and didn't know too much about his politics. It's a quiet and spectral record that shows off his rich and dark brown voice which sings sad lullabies sort of in the vein of Smog. Underneath is an orchestrated tapestry of alt country yearnings with organs, flutes and strings fleshing out the quiet meditations.
