Meat Beat Manifesto Vs. Terry Riley
In C

One of the great things about Terry Riley’s masterwork In C is that it seems to be open to successful interpretation by almost anyone: in this case, Meat Beat Manifesto! This is a remix of a recording of a 2009 performance by Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble, and it works passages of that sweet minimalism into a more Meat Beat kind of territory. Limited vinyl release.

Meat Beat Manifesto
Impossible Star

Big Beater is watching you!  The world is in a strange, disturbing way these days, but international man of mystery Jack Dangers, Manifesto in hand, is here to weigh in. Meat Beat Manifesto has been going for over three decades now, and these new offerings show Dangers’ long-honed proficiency. His production is thick and uneasy, but the tone of most of these very lively and rich, drawing on all sorts - acid, breakbeat, IDM, lounge, electro, and even snowstorm’d ambient brick walls.

Meat Beat Manifesto
02

Meat Beat Manifesto drop the second in Skam’s series of 10”s, a series craftily entitled Kasm. 02 has the kind of, well, meaty beats that the group’s manifesto has long promised, so you won’t be disappointed with these four brand new cuts. The record is limited to just 300 copies, and comes in a sleeve apparently depicting some insulation?
