Discrete Circuit & Mark Broom
MBDC

Some techno-ass techno here from Discrete Circuit and Mark Broom. The pair have crossed paths before, but MBDC is the first time that they produced a body of work together. They come through with three big-room tools that occasionally have an acid whiff to them (see ‘MBDC2’). H4L gives ‘MBDC2’ a skittering electro flip to close out the record.

Ruskin & Broom
Domwen

So, it's time for a new Ruskin & Broom EP! James Ruskin and Mark Broom -- stalwarts both of the UK Techno scene -- are together and continuing their collaborative techno project. 'Domwen' features 3 new slices of razor-edged techno -- heavy on the bass, deep of groove with surreal synths. Tasty 12" on Blueprint.

Floorplan v Mark Broom
Floorplan v Mark Broom EP

This one bills itself as Floorplan Vs. Mark Broom, but there appears to be only one cut where the techno titans actually go head to head here. Mind you, it’s a damn good track - Mark Broom’s toughened remix of Floorplan’s gospel-techno banger ‘Never Go Old’ is absolute dancefloor dynamite. Elsewhere on the EP Floorplan turn in some mutant acid and Broom’s ‘Jungle’ is a bongo-techno jam that also jacks hard. Ravers of the world, an orderly queue please.

The Fear Ratio
Live E.P

The mighty Skam Records bring you this sweet little four tracker from Mark Broom & James Ruskin's Fear Ratio, what you get here is alternative versions of tracks from the 2015 Dead Albatross nominated album 'Refuge of A Twisted Soul' culled from rehearsals for live shows, of course it would't be a classic Skam release without the obligatory braille sticker on PVC sleeve.

Mark Broom
King EP

The dependable bedrock of British techno Mark Broom is back on EPM to continue a trilogy of EPs. This time around things are a little more soulful, with piano chords, disco licks and straight-up housey hooks scattered atop the tough rhythmic backbone of Broom’s time-honoured style. Scottish peak time workhorse Gary Beck drops a remix of “King” that plays it a bit safer than the sassy original.

Mark Broom
One Sound / Myth EP

Legendary UK techno figurehead Mark Broom briefly wanders from the side of long-time music buddy James Ruskin to deliver some pure techno to your sub bins via EPM music. The first of 3 upcoming EPs, One Sound / Myth promises production stripped back to its bass-laden essentials, and is backed by remixes from DJ Hyperactive and Absent. Hefty.

Mark Broom
Stunned (97 Mix) / Decay

Works old and new from Pure Plastic label-owner Mark Broom for this release on Robert Hood’s famed M-Plant label. As implied, Stunned (97 Mix) dates from way back when, though it’s thudding powers have been tweaked to 2015 levels without losing that original sound. On the B-side is a brand new techno slammer, ‘Decay’.

Mark Broom
Untitled

Big room head wobbler from Mark Broom.  On Untitled he brings us two colossus techy jams. Side A jacks right from this off and tumps on through with sparse hand claps, some sketchy white-ish noise which is joined by an ominous gust of unknown origins. It builds up and drops off but leaves the kick going to keep the pace.  On the flip the dub takes you even deeper and darker. Out on 12" vinyl from Edit Select.
