The Fear Ratio
They Can't Be Saved

Casual observers may not know the Fear Ratio but they are a collaboration between James Ruskin & Mark Broom both known for solo works and in collaboration with others. Together they make a sound which combines electronica, ambient and experimental works. Here on their third album they delve into broody dub landscapes and late night electronics as well as nod toward hip-hop and techno. Gonna be good we reckon.

The Fear Ratio
Live E.P

The mighty Skam Records bring you this sweet little four tracker from Mark Broom & James Ruskin's Fear Ratio, what you get here is alternative versions of tracks from the 2015 Dead Albatross nominated album 'Refuge of A Twisted Soul' culled from rehearsals for live shows, of course it would't be a classic Skam release without the obligatory braille sticker on PVC sleeve.

Discrete Circuit & Mark Broom
MBDC

Some techno-ass techno here from Discrete Circuit and Mark Broom. The pair have crossed paths before, but MBDC is the first time that they produced a body of work together. They come through with three big-room tools that occasionally have an acid whiff to them (see ‘MBDC2’). H4L gives ‘MBDC2’ a skittering electro flip to close out the record.

Mark Broom
One Sound / Myth EP

Legendary UK techno figurehead Mark Broom briefly wanders from the side of long-time music buddy James Ruskin to deliver some pure techno to your sub bins via EPM music. The first of 3 upcoming EPs, One Sound / Myth promises production stripped back to its bass-laden essentials, and is backed by remixes from DJ Hyperactive and Absent. Hefty.

Mark Broom
Stunned (97 Mix) / Decay

Works old and new from Pure Plastic label-owner Mark Broom for this release on Robert Hood’s famed M-Plant label. As implied, Stunned (97 Mix) dates from way back when, though it’s thudding powers have been tweaked to 2015 levels without losing that original sound. On the B-side is a brand new techno slammer, ‘Decay’.
