One of the living giants of today’s techno scene, Marcel Dettmann, of Club Berghain’s Ostgut Ton, is not one to sit still. Whenever he leaves the Berlin bunker it’s generally to drop a 12” of dark and bleak techno. Test-File counts 6 tracks and 22 minutes, all of which dance-able, and covers the spectrum from techno to dirty acid house.

Marcel Dettmann presents Rauch

'Rauch' conceals a smart and intriguing conceptual core: this is music inspired by the photographer Friederike von Rauch. Modular synthesis unfurls steady drones, whilst amniotic rhythmic bumps and soft noise licks add texture. The atmosphere is lifted with airy pads, completing the sonic counterpart to Rauch's stark artistic eye.

Seduction

There are only few producers that represent the essence of techno and the hardness and gloom of Berghain as perfectly as Marcel Dettmann, the founding member of the Ostgut Ton family. After the release of the limited 12“ “Dawning/Dawning (Revisited)“ with Ben Klock, his long awaited second LP “Dettmann II“ emerged on Ostgut Ton last year. For this remix EP of the album track “Seduction“, featuring the English, Berlin-based singer Emika, Dettmann lets Deuce, Anthony Parasole and Ryan Elliot take control of the temptation.
