Arbouretum
A Gourd Of Gold

Psychedelic rock band Arbouretum take on four songs by '60s and '70 Canadian country folk God Gordon Lightfoot. Unlikely as that may sound, the result is interesting and a real testament to the brilliance of Lightfoot's son writing. Includes the epic ballad "The Wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald", considered by Lightfoot as his best composition and not a bad achievement for Arbouretum either. Vinyl or CD on Latitudes.

Arbouretum
Coming Out Of The Fog

Rock classicists Arbouretum drop their fifth LP via Thrill Jockey. It’s a testament to Arbouretum’s dedication that their sound, so steeped in the annals of rock history, remains fresh on Coming Out Of The Fog. This is largely due to the fact that their Sabbath/Floyd/Zeppelin/Doors riffage is beefed up with a little grunge scuzz. Vocalist Dave Heumann’s piercing tenor remains as arresting as ever.

Arbouretum
Rites of Uncovering

If you’ve been waiting and praying for a re-issue of Arbouretum’s debut album then this is your lucky day. To celebrate it’s 10th anniversary, Thrill Jockey have freshly repressed it onto virgin (ooph!) vinyl.  They play a kind of morose folk infused music that suggests all members of the band have been carved out of wood.
