Think Of Spring

‘Think Of Spring’ is M. Ward’s version of the album ‘Lady In Satin’ by legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday. He recorded his version of the songs with just an acoustic guitar and a little studio trickery added afterwards. Inspiration also comes from jazz trombonist J.J. Johnson, acoustic guitar innovator John Fahey and blues trailblazer Robert Johnson. M. Ward is donating the proceeds from 'Think Of Spring' to various charities close to his heart.

Duet For Guitars

Duet For Guitars #2 is the fab debut album by M. Ward. The album combines finger picked guitar instrumentals that, in sound, land somewhere between John Fahey and Jim O’Rourke and songs sung in Ward’s now trademark drawl, all recorded with a home recording, lo-fi aesthetic. It was originally released on CD in 1999.

Migration Stories

M. Ward has released some wonderful albums over the years. For his tenth record, Migration Stories, he took himself up to Montreal, Canada to see some guys from a band called Arcade Fire and use their studio. Tim Kingsbury and Richard Reed Parry were more than accommodating and even lent him their producer, Craig Silvey.

What a Wonderful Industry

What A Wonderful Industry, the latest album by singer/songwriter M Ward, is inspired by the good and bad people he has met during his career - the 'warm-blooded and cold-blooded animals in the zoo', as he puts it.  Jim James from My Morning Jacket makes a guest appearance, popping up on two tracks. He, surely, is one of the good ones. LP and CD on M Ward Records.

More Rain

M. Ward has produced a lot of excellent music over the years, as a solo artist, with Zooey Deschanel as She & Him, and with members of My Morning Jacket and Bright Eyes as Monsters of Folk. Some heritage eh? He consequently dives into More Rain with confidence, producing a strong suite of uptempo songs. On Bella Union.
