Love
Revisited

Love Revisited was a rather odd compilation of tracks from the first four Love albums. The Elektra years if you will. I guess it was originally intended as a starter point for those who hadn't already hooked on to the bands exquisite form of folk rock but given the success of Forever Changes it's rather odd to see only three tracks taken from the now legendary album. Still, it's a good place to start and if you don't trust that they did anything else as good as Forever Changes then this is proof to the contrary.

Love
Forever Changes

Forever Changes by Love was one of a number of classic and highly original albums that were released in 1967. Led by Arthur Lee, the band were hampered by drugs and failing relationships, but the difficult atmosphere seems to have been the right one in which to make a classic. Apparently Neil Young was penciled in to produce the album, but the job fell to Bruce Botnik instead, turns out he did a decent job.

Love
Love (Mono Version)

In 1966, a year before releasing Forever Changes, Love’s self titled album came out. Here Rhino have marked the 50th anniversary with a reissue of the mono version on vinyl. Heralded as kings of the psych-rock scene in Los Angeles and label mates with The Doors they defined the genre, and still do.

Love
Reel To Real

Love wrapped up their career over 40 years ago with Reel To Real, a classically funky selection from Arther Love and the gang. This double LP reissue (first time on vinyl in decades) accompanies the original record with 11 never-before-heard tracks, a mixture of alternate takes and unreleased original songs(!). Plus a lengthy, comprehensive booklet.

Love
Forever Changes (50th Anniversary Edition)

One of the greatest albums of all time reaches 50 but, with multiple re-issues down the line already, what will they squeeze out of it this time? Well you get mono and stereo mixes, an alternate mix, and a disc of outtakes - some of which are actually pretty darned good. Superb pastoral psychedelic pop that has influenced generations. Every home should have one in some format or other.
