Apparat
LP5_RMXS

If you haven’t guessed already, 'LP5_RMXS' is Apparat’s LP5, remixed. Radio Slave, Substance (AKA DJ Pete), Stimming and Solomun are the people tasked with reshaping four of the tracks making them ready for some dancefloor action. Apparat is also known as one half of Moderat with Modeselektor. 12” on Mute.

Apparat
LP5

As a break from his very successful work with Moderat, German synthesizer-tamer Apparat is finally treating the world to some more of his solo work. We haven’t heard the whole aptly-named LP5 yet, but first single DAWAN feels like somebody’s gently scratching your earlobe, and sounds like a crossover between Mount Kimbie's Break Well and Caribou's Can't Do Without You, in the best way.

Moderat
Live

Modeselektor and Apparat playing live as Moderat. Covering tracks taken from all three albums, and recorded during their tour for III. Released on CD and digital in 2016, now for the first time this live album has been made available on lush double vinyl, packaged with an exclusive picture book - In My Eyes by Birgit Kaulfuss.

Apparat
Multifunktionsebene, Tttrial and Eror, Duplex

Are you an Apparat fan? Yes? Well then check this out: the first three Apparat albums, from over a decade ago, re-pressed and packed up together in a stylishly minimal sleeve. Multifunktionsebene, Ttrial and Eror and Duplex all have plenty to recommend them, both as early glimpses and as stand-out work in their own right. Out on Shitkatapult.

Apparat
Krieg Und Frieden (Music For Theatre)

Berlin-based Sascha Ring has long been trading under the Apparat moniker combining electronic wizardry with a particularly emotional form of melody making. Here is a vinyl pressing of the music he contributed to a staging of Tolstoy’s War & Peace by Sebastian Hartmann as part of the renowned German arts festival Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen.

Apparat
Walls

Always good to hear from Apparat - whether he’s collaborating with Ellen Allien, teaming up with Modeselektor to form Moderat or just noodling away on his own, Sascha Ring’s output tends to be worth a listen. Walls, his third solo LP, remains one of Apparat’s high points more than a decade on from the initial release. It’s a stirring blend of electronica, techno, chamber pop and machine balladry that prefigures Bonobo.
