OK, so all I knew beforehand about this release -- on the ever-reliable Kranky label -- was that Anjou are two of ambient post-rockers Labradford. For their second LP, Robert Donne and Mark Nelson have teamed up once again to deliver an album full of synthetic electronic sounds and organic swells.

I think I'm right in saying that this was the final release from post-rock legends Labradford before new projects, including the excellent Anjou took shape, and it's a pretty decent way to bow out.

Labradford's debut 1994 release 'Prazision' is probably their least satisfying record, but is still very much worth checking out if you are serious about your post-rock.
