Josephine Foster
No Harm Done

Josephine Foster returns with her distinctive blend of country folk and blues on No Harm Done. It was recorded in Nashville with fingerstyle guitarist Matthew Schneider. Foster’s bewildering voice, piano and organ playing is complemented perfectly by Schneider’s guitars - from 12-string acoustic to pedal steel. It is all beautiful framed by producer Andrija Tokic.

Josephine Foster
I'm A Dreamer

I'm A Dreamer was featured on the Netflix show End of the F****** World (a show that will soon become a real life documentary) and is now being issued on a 7" on Fire. Josephine Foster is adept at taking old country-ish songs and breathing new life into them with her unusual voice, gentle strummings and delicate folk-blues stylings.

Josephine Foster
Fairy Faithful Harmony

I wonder if she can remember the time she played in Shipley? Here is a song cycle of 18 new songs by the Spain based singer songwriter. Here she self produces and accompanies herself on all kinds of instruments including guitar, piano an organ on an album exploring themes of morality and mortality. Which you do when you've been to Shipley.

Josephine Foster
No More Lamps In The Morning

The basically incomparable Josephine Foster is back with No More Lamps in the Morning on CD and vinyl LP. Her gorgeous and strange voice dominates these recordings, which are blend of new material and unusual covers of her own work. Her poetry is combined with that of James Joyce and Rudyard Kipling and accompanied by guitars and cellos that are both beautiful and dissonant.

Josephine Foster
Little Life

Record Store Day reissue of Josephine Foster’s 2001 brief Little Life LP here. This is an album of charming home recordings from the singular singer. The tunes here were written while Foster was working as a music teacher for young children. She often used a ukulele in her classes, and subsequently began to incorporate the instrument into her own work. Laying down her ditties to a four-track recorder gives them a winning intimacy akin to early Regina Spektor.

This Coming Gladness

This Coming Gladness was folk singer extraordinaire Josephine Foster's eighth album originally released in 2008. As usual it is a mixture of traditional and modern folk stylings with her swooping voice taking centre stage. This Coming Gladness blends together eerie folk and out-there psych influences assisted by guitarist Victor Herrero and percussionist Alex Nielson (Trembling Bells etc).

Josephine Foster & The Supposed
All The Leaves Are Gone

15 years on from its original release, Fire Records are re-issuing All The Leaves Are Gone from Josephine Foster & The Supposed. Many were initially confused by its psychedelic folk leanings back in 2004, but Foster’s background in opera scrambled the expectations and enamoured a cult fanbase.

Josephine Foster
A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

Classic renditions of German poems that have been previously released and (as some of you may have noticed) have sold out on all platforms....until now! This is a remaster of A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing sung by Josephine Foster with brand spanking new artwork. But act fast because this is limited to 1000 copies and will more than likely sell like popcorn in a cinema. Available on vinyl LP and released on Fire.  Note: The video used on this page is a sample of one of the same songs (An Die Musik) just with a different album art.
