Record Store Day reissue of Josephine Foster’s 2001 brief Little Life LP here. This is an album of charming home recordings from the singular singer. The tunes here were written while Foster was working as a music teacher for young children. She often used a ukulele in her classes, and subsequently began to incorporate the instrument into her own work. Laying down her ditties to a four-track recorder gives them a winning intimacy akin to early Regina Spektor.
