Mike Patton & Jean-Claude Vannier
Corpse Flower

Recorded in between Paris and Los Angeles as a result of a meeting between acclaimed French composer Jean-Claude Vannier and Faith No More’s frontman Mike Patton eight years ago, new collaboration album Corpse Flower is alive with invention and professional simpatico. Lyrics for the first track are lovingly borrowed from one Oscar Wilde.

L'Enfant Assassin Des Mouches Alternate Takes

L’Enfant Assassin Des Mouches is a cult favourite among fans of avant-garde pop and French concept albums, and it was thought lost until 2005. But now we go even more obscure than that, with some alternate takes from that album’s sessions that were thought to be even more lost until recently! 7” on Finders Keepers.

Serge Gainsbourg & Jean-Claude Vannier
Les Chemins De Katmandou

Here is some very rare Serge Gainsbourg material, previously thought lost in a fire. Les Chemins De Katmandou, put together with key collaborator Jean-Claude Vannier to soundtrack a wild road movie film, is a funky library music adventure that puts a different spin on the maestro Serge’s sound. Found and restored at last for a release on Finders Keepers.

L'Enfant Assassin Des Mouches

Über-rare in original pressing form (and relatively rare by now in its first Finders Keepers reissue edition), L’Enfant Assassin Des Mouches is a cult wonder. Super-fresh sounding French odd-rock / odd-pop from the 1960’s, with the mastermind Jean-Claude Vannier utilising proggish jamming and soaring choral singing to great effect. 10th anniversary Finders Keepers reissue.

Electro Rapide

Finders Keepers celebrate hitting 50 releases by going back to their first. As with FKR001 back in 2005, the label’s latest LP is a collection of rarities and exclusives exhumed from the vaults of legendary French songster Jean-Claude Vannier. Electro-Rapide is a set of lush pop orchestrations drawn from the period when Vannier’s star was at its highest point. Even while working with the likes of Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Fontaine, Vannier still found time to pen the insouciant Gallic shakes we find on Electro-Rapide. Everyone from Beck to Beach House owe a debt to Vannier.
