Doin' The Thing: The Horace Silver Quintet At The Village Gate

Appearing as part of an apparent Blue Note live album reissue program we have Doin’ The Thing: The Horace Silver Quintet At The Village Gate. This funky, soulful classic, recorded in mid-1961, was the only live album the quintet made for Blue Note. The band featured Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Junior Cook on tenor sax, bass player, Gene Taylor  and drummer Roy Cook. All tracks featured are Horace Silver originals.
