Abdou El Omari
Nuits D' Ete

Back in the mid-70’s the Moroccan organist and composer Abdou El Omari embarked on his Nuits LP trilogy. Only one of the albums ever made it public - 1976’s Nuits D'Été - but now the Radio Martiko imprint have snapped up all three records for new editions. Listening to Nuits D'Été it’s hard to understand why the public didn’t want more from this charismatic Casablancan. El Omari’s blending of Farfisa melodies and electro-psychedelic wizardry with traditional rhythms and modes remains enthralling to this day.

Abdou El Omari
Nuits D' Ete Avec Naima Samih

Radio Martiko kicked things off with a reissue of Moroccan organ-composer Abdou El Omari’s 1976 LP Nuits D' Ete. With their second release they’re going one better - Nuits D' Ete Avec Naima Samih, a previously-unreleased collection of El Omari stuff. Some of this LP was made alongside the singer Naima Samih. Psychedelic north African Farfisa magic.

Abdou El Omari
Nuits De Printemps

They love an organist down at Radio Martiko. The label’s latest album is Abdou El Omari’s Nuits De Printemps, a previously-unreleased collection from this late Moroccan keysman. We’re not certain when the tracks of Nuits De Printemps were recorded - judging by the cover artwork we’re guessing around the same time as El Omari’s 1976 debut LP Nuits D´Été, but don’t quote us on that. However, one thing that’s for sure is that Nuits De Printemps is a unique blend of psychedelic flourishes, ARP synth goodness and Farfisa showmanship in the Moroccan style.
