Dr. Lonnie Smith
All In My Mind

Dr. Lonnie Smith played the Hammond B3 in George Benson’s band and recorded albums with Lou Donaldson before embarking on a solo career that has included 28 albums. He has carried on making albums with Donaldson in that time, too. All In My Mind is his latest album to date and was originally released in 2018. This is its first time on vinyl and it has been remastered by Kevin Gray.

Lonnie Smith
Live At Club Mozambique

Originally released in 1995 on the legendary Blue Note label, Live At Club Mozambique captures jazz organist Lonnie Smith at the peak of powers during a performance in May 1970 at the Detroit club of the same name. Featuring a certain George Benson on guitar, the eight-track performance culminates in two covers (of Sly Stone and Miles Davis) and can now be heard again on this double-vinyl re-issue.

Lonnie Smith

The second LP from ya boy Dr. Lonnie Smith gets a reissue via Blue Note. 1968's Think! is one of those oft-imitated, rarely-improved golden-age jazz tomes. Backed by a group that consisted of Lee Morgan, David ‘Fathead’ Newman and Melvin Sparks, Smith and his organ deliver a set that combines classic bop sounds with Hugh Masekela’s South African style, spiritual jazz, funk and early fusion. The result is a hot-fingered masterpiece.
