Samba De Flora

Airto is one of the most revered Brazilian percussionists having worked with everyone up to and including Miles Davis. Samba De Flora is his 1988 album that fuses Brazilian samba and bossa nova with jazz. Despite being incredibly well regarded it had been out of print until Soul Jazz Records intervened.

Brazil USA 70: Brazilian Music in the USA in the 1970s

Reissues of music by Brazilian or Brazilian-diaspora artists are quite in vogue at the moment, but no genre revival is truly complete until Soul Jazz Records have got in on the act. Their hat-in-the-ring is a compilation of tracks made by Brazilians who emigrated the United States in the 1970’s, as the title Brazil USA 70: Brazilian Music in the USA in the 1970s should make clear. Sergio Mendes, Milton Nascimento and Flora Purim are among the featured artists.
